Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
Creativity in service of phoning-in a post!
(Full Disclosure: the number what popped in my head this morning was 27-6-14. So, naturally, I thought, there’s the fairest way to find a reprint post for this Monday morning!)
(New Readers? Here, at the Wakefield Doctrine, we apply a certain libertisitic principle to content creation. Sure we do reprints, but, as Doctrine fave, Heraclitus, reminds us, ‘You can’t step in the same river twice.’ Which we take as license to emulate the past, while accepting the fact that what passes for the past, here in the future, is neither.)
Whoa! Dude (Jeff Spicoli reference, for you not-young Readers, in probable, mis-remembered line from the movie.)
Serially. The Wakefield Doctrine is a perspective, a tool, if you will, on the world around us and the people who make it up1. By employing these perspectives when interacting with other people, we stand half a chance of appreciating how they are experiencing (a given situation) and, therefore, avoiding misunderstanding. Which we know, accounts for eighty percent of interpersonal conflict. (The other twenty percent, is because we want to.)
The reprint post from June 27, 2014:
Bullet-point Friday! the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
We want to thank Dyanne for the splendid scottian Post yesterday, it was everything the Doctrine would have it be! Seriously, it was fun, and, as I alluded to in (one of) my comments, it makes me very happy to be a part of this here Wakefield Doctrine blog community here.
Being Friday* lets totally dispense with the formality of grammar and rhetoric and such! bring on the bullet
- points!!
no, we are not going to get too, overly clever, but like that last 12 inches as you park in the garage, and the thing you’re going to hit (if you’re going to hit anything), has disappeared out of view below the hood of the car and you just keep inching in hoping not to hear any sounds of collision and or protest.
so for the weekend ahead:
- TToT as always! I will now, today, invoke SR 7.3.5 (yes, a high risk manoeuvre, I realize) which will forward reference the following items to the list: 1) grateful for the Readers of the Wakefield Doctrine and all the Guest Post writers for making Thursdays the most… interesting day of the week! 2) the Wakefield Doctrine(first list iteration) for providing, not only a tool and a perspective, but a self-development tool that is beyond compare and item 3) the total, <= 1% chance of snow in the next 48 – 72 hour forecast!
- the question is, how to link this specific section into tomorrow’s TToT? any suggestions out there, send it on
- the ‘Great American Scrolling Novel’ is continuing to (un)scroll over at the Secessionist Rag… go over, read (yes, it’s in reverse order, i.e. the most recent Chapter at the top…they’re kind of short so you can scroll down to the first and read through in one sitting… hey! tell us if you can guess where Denise comes in as co-writer)
- will do a vid Post… two challenges: my regular camera doesn’t seem to work anymore and the weather is nice, which means walkers** are out and Una really gets a kick out of sneaking up and barking in their left ears
- …will stop for a minute, for those of you who have to head out to work, I will Post this now…and add to it a little later.
- ok…back! the book project continues at it’s near-catatonically glacial pace, however, I do have a sense of what it is I would like to have, when I am done
- a clear outline of the Wakefield Doctrine interspersed with excerpts from Posts (and) a running sidebar***
- just so I don’t forget! next week is a roger(ian) Guest Post writer… lets get to that list and see who we can get!
- I think I’ve padded this Post about as much as necessary, will be back later in the day…
* the day of the week when you can pretend you’ve earned it!
** no! not those walkers… people (living people) who are out walking for the health of it!
*** provided, of course, that there is such a thing as a ‘running sidebar’
*
1) Still my all-time favorite secret joke.
Serially, very enjoyable post.
It is a tool. Enjoy the reprint and! I went to the Rag and read a little of the story. Was it really that many years ago? lol
Between work and nursing duties, i’m late, so i’ll have to come back to the story later.
we’ll be here
