TToT -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

This is the Wakefield Doctrine’s contribution to Lizzi’s bloghop that is currently hosted by Kristi, the Ten Things of Thankful (TToT) ‘hop.

The premise is simple, the requirements even more so, and participation, well, that you’ve already met success.

Good job!

(To participate is not limited to the obvious, ‘send in a list of ten things that make you feel grateful’, heck no! The liminal requirement is to engage. What you choose to do beyond that is open to your devise and discretion.*)

1) Phyllis

2) Una

3) the Wakefield Doctrine

4) the Six Sentence Story  fun in readin and writin’

5) gratitude, in it’s highest form, is a non-transactional relationship among the people, places and things that make up our respective worlds**

6) writing for fun and self-improving ourselfs, to wit, the Case of the Missing Fig Leaf‘ and ‘the Whitechapel Interlude‘.

7) there appears to be a social-cultural bias towards perceiving social/cultural/heck, personal interactions, as being, at heart, a transaction. Not always the best way to relate oneself to the world around you.

8) something, something

9) THIS SPACE AVAILABLE

10) Secret Rule 1.3***

* who said, ‘obscure, possibly incorrectly deployed wordage’?!! lol thank you… (see Grat Item 5)

** Fabergé protect me! see Grat Item 7 (lol)

*** just ask****

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

“If you want a treehouse, feel free, Kristi,” is the direct quote by John when I showed him that photo. :-) I thought it was cool when Phyllis came up with the idea, I think it’s cool that the TToT has been around long enough that I remember when the treehouse was built, and I think it’s cool that Phyllis gets her moment of fame because of the treehouse.

#7 is sad. The “what’s in it for me?” mentality is, unfortunately, not uncommon. I imagine there must be a reason you thought of that this week; I hope this coming week is better.

      lol
The beauty part of the treehouse is that it is a treehouse without requiring a ladder to access.. the terrain slopes away on the pond side but there are still only six steps (about 3′) to the doorway.
(kinda kid-design with adult in mind)

actually #7 was a riff off #5 I just underestimated my skill level to present it so briefly. While there is no doubt there is a vast percentage of interactions that are all (and only) quid pro quo, I was attempting to suggest that there participating in the TToT and deriving a benefit is without cost or obligation* to any view, Reader or writer. As it is, come read and you probably will get something from the simple reading.

      * this is where I was trying to go, when I, apparently, ran out of words… that the best of interactions do not come with a price tag, I will let you (and the Readers) reflect on those in your worlds that have this quality**

** learn my lesson about footnotes and long philosophical discussion? me? lol right

Light bulb goes on. LOL. Yes, I agree that the participants of the TToT (readers and/or writers) do gain without obligation.

  2. Long live Mrs. Peel.
It is a most peaceful place, the treehouse. Great picture.
Your serial stories have been most enjoyable. Do persist.
I am thankful for this, the TToT and Six Sentence Stories. Both blog hops have enhanced my life such that if it were not for this virtual world and the people in it I’ve met, my life would be less.
Thank you for the Beethoven. He has never not been my favorite composer from the beginning. not only do I love listening to it, it was my most favorite to play. A most cathartic composer.

      I agree with all.
(let me know if you’d like an edit to your comment… tend to not do so without explicit direction)

  3. Pat Brockett says:

What a perfect place to go for a Zoom meeting! I doubt that there are many who have that kind of setting for the Zoom meetings.
As for #7, there is nothing enjoyable about feeling one has been used.

  4. Brava, Mrs. F! Love the list.

The article in the paper was a great way to lift everyone’s spirits.

  6. Lisa Tomey says:

A lovely tree house! My friend recently had one built. It’s a climber so I don’t think I’ll visit. It’s awfully cute! Hope you have a great week!

  7. Cynthia says:

That’s great about Phyllis! Happy new start to the week to ya. :)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Same to you.
(Doubt if the print in the article is readable, so allow me),”…house has its own flag, with a frog, and a handmade door knocker.”
That last being the gift from you and John, which, of course, we put on the outside so a visitor could knock properly.
