TToT -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Welcome to the Ten Things of Thankful (TToT) bloghop. Hosted by Kristi and them, this is a weekly exercise, (no, not so much multiplication tables or push ups, more hurry-up we-need-to-see-how many-water-balloons-we-can-fill-before-they-get-here), in gratitude. More, seeing how ‘gratitude’ is kind of a emotio-reflective* state of mind, its a recounting of the people, places and things that have recently or, not so recently, evinced a state of gratitude in our respective lives. It’s fun and sometimes even beneficial.

So read and enjoy. Or, if the thought of your ideas, up in lights is calling, link your post over at Kristi’s. For me, the following are cited as ‘grat items’ for this week:

1) Una (and the deer)

“And stay out!!”

2) Phyllis (and the dear)

3) the Wakefield Doctrine

4) Running through a field of thistle (ow! ouch! jeez…godamn!)

5) the Six Sentence Story For whatever reason, this week’s prompt word produced a very satisfying word goulash (as, opposed, I might venture, the usual word salad.)

6) Paul Binyon. my chainsaw is whispering sweet nothings in my ear and, after I’ve gone into the office, I plan to take it dancing. Photos to follow.

‘course, there’s that little matter of getting the tree (and trunk) out of the pond…lol

7) reprint TToT from the Summer of 2013: (full Post here)

What makes our TToT different is that it is a true ‘weekend blog hop’. By that I simply mean that it starts this morning and ends tomorrow night. If you want to participate you can do so at any time this weekend…and (here’s the difference) people come and read and Comment throughout the weekend, so if you have trouble today (I am a great example, I have to work today, so I’ll get this Post in and read who ever is around…later in the middle of the day, I’ll pop in and see whats going on…then the end of the day and so on). And… Comments? thats a little different here too!  Jump in anywhere we totally believe in cross commenting. So… I think I have put this off as long as I can… my List of Ten Things:

(…yeah, I know!)

(too late to quit now!)

(…lets wrap this up!)

Ok… I had fun doing this…. (did someone just imply that they were….?)

Number 10 I am grateful that I am able to submit the above as my TToT of this Week.

We’re here all weekend (‘try the veal’) Be sure to tip your Waitress… and Comment (‘dammit! Jim  I’m a Wakefield Doctrine writer, not a videographer!)

8) the BoSR/SBoR and it’s providing the option of listing ‘hypograts’ (Which are people, places and things that appear, at first blush, to be negative, however when the appropriate Rules are applied, qualify for inclusion on this list. Example? Go over to Mimi’s she is the (fill-in your favorite artist) of the hypograts.

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

Comments

  1. Very enjoyable, engaging double TToT. Except! I am reminded how much I miss the ocean, the Atlantic, the beaches *sigh*
Each post has a bit of everything for everyone (and I’ve a hunch Pat agrees). What with with all the vids, the music, and surely the synchronacity (a type of past tense of the real word, lol, like the sound of it better) of folks participating in the hops this week. :D

    I agree, very enjoyable post.
Anyone recognize the flying insect at the thistle (looks like a cross between a bee and a butterfly)?

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      A Butterbee?! A Murder Fly?!!?

    • Kristi says:

I think it is called a hummingbird moth. I hadn’t ever seen one (that I’m aware of) until moving to Utah. They are pretty amazing!

      • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

Thanks for the id. Hadn’t seen it (the flying thing prior to this photo effort.

  3. Fun videos, and no wonder i seldom get lost and can always figure out where i am and where i need to go.

Great whole list, too, and i really like that you named your chain saw.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      lol
(The thing about clarks have a good sense of direction is, I believe, tied to our talent for visualization. I tend to picture the earth from above*, as a result, my guesses as to which way to turn when going somewhere new are usually correct.)
      * of course

  4. Kristi says:

Una seems to be ever alert. Love the photo of her watching the deer!
You and my mom do seem to be on the same TToT wavelength this week. :-)

  5. Pat B says:

Totally enjoyable trip to the ocean with TToTs added in.
I was just going to ask about the winged creature too, but I see Kristi knows what they are. That would cause a bit of excitement here if one landed on me.
Does Una just consider the deer a momentary novelty, or would she chase it over many property lines until she could no longer see it?

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

no, she knows they (the deer) live in the woods, tolerates them out of sight, doesn’t not appreciate them on the lawn or otherwise too close… We are careful, would not want her to try

  6. Lisa Tomey says:

    Another entertaining gratsinging list!

  7. teachezwell says:

OK, I loved hearing your voice as you carefully avoided immovable objects. Now I can imagine you more clearly. Did you realize that Una looks like a brown bear? I’m sure you did. I love the way she stands guard against the naughty deer. I could use Una all the time around here. Do be careful with the chainsaw! And thanks for the photos of the thistles and bee. I guess you successfully navigated both hazards. Bees sure do pack on the weight in your neck of the woods.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

thanks… hard to believe how long ago those videos were, seven years ago!
Her coloring is not idealized for age-diminished eyesight, especially seeing how are couches are a dark color. More than I can to recall, I’ve stood 12 feet away asking Phyllis if she knows where Una is.
Made it back in one piece.
      Have a excellent week ahead.

  8. Carin says:

Great idea on the video TToT
