TToT -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

‘Objects in the mirror might appear more significant than they actually are.”

This is the (weekly) Ten Things of Thankful (TToT) post. You’re invited to our host, Kristi and the others, reflectioning on those people, places and things that elicited a sense/feeling/emotion/appreciation of gratitude. Seeing how the time that has elapsed since the founderinae, Lizzi created this bloghop, is abstract and fairly subjective* consider everything/anytime fair game. Write ’em if ya got ’em.

New to the TToT? Freedom Hall for all, on one condition: good intent. Surely there is no better manifestation of this principle than Item Six (in the list below).

So bring your photos and feelings, videos and oblique references, it’s all permissible. The beauty part, (as Lou Collins used to say), is that you will find, ‘in this ‘hop’ everything from insightful and well-ordered reflection to rhetorical train wrecks and stream-of-consciousness(SOC) ramblings, like this here post here.

Our list this week:

1) Una

“A dog, a window, a mirror. Sure, you go ahead and tell me how there is only one, single, unchanging reality. ..I’ll just wait right here.*
* I wouldn’t, if I were you…consider where ‘here’ is, if I were you.

2) Phyllis

3) Wakefield Doctrine. This handy little personality theory will let you better understand the people in your life. With sufficient study (of the principles of said Doctrine) and a healthy amount of imagination (to see what is not necessarily visible to you in your predominate worldview), you can know more about the other person than they know about themselves. No, really!

4) the Hobbomock Chronicles. This week we have Episode Sixteen. The process of writing is one of those (many) secret opportunities for gaining insights into myself as much as learning to write. Shout out to a couple of people who’ve been very supportive, (our own) Mimi and Robert Birkhofer (who writes some excellent stories over at the Mad Puppeteer ) Hey, guys, thanks for the readation.

5) the Six Sentence Story a bloghop that continually challenges those so inclined to develop our skills. Each week, not only a prompt word, but examples from the other participants of how to wrap the right words around an idea to allow it to be enjoyed by others.

6) the Book of Secret Rules (aka the Secret Book of Rules). It is license to let the imagination off-leash for a little time of fun and reflection. Like a dog park with a secure fence, yet room to work up some decent fun-time velocity.

7) Friend of the Doctrine, Kerry. I had a line in an earlier draft that mentioned SOC, stream-of-consciousness. This, in turned, triggered memories of a few years back, when we were doing Friday Night vid chat (yes, a presage of the current popularity of such gatherings, ‘kept we were mostly clarks in an environment that felt quite natural.) In any event, Kerry used to mention this SOC bloghop that she enjoyed writing in/for/to. She’s still over at her blog, say hello for us at  Her Headache

8) Weather: warming enough to convince the apple tree that its safe to try again, one more year.

9) THIS SPACE AVAILABLE (motto: Send a grat in a comment and see your words in lights!***)

10) Secret Rule 1.3  The oldest and surely most venerable of the items in the grab-bag of rhetorical anarchy known as the Book of Secret Rules (Secret Book of Rules), whole-heartedly embraced by the Wakefield Doctrine

* lol …that phrase right there, “As the time…elapsed since…is…fairly subjective” Can I get a “No, but it’s true!” from the clarks out there?

** who said, ‘There seems to be a pattern here with this ‘writer’. lol

*** metaphorically speaking, of course

(came across this artist, watching the series, ‘Lucifer’)

since we have done the popular music with mention of a archetype, lets see what we can find in the classical realm.

This guy again!

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

I think I am being hypnotized by “that guy.”
It looks like it is going to be a good apple year on your side of the country too.
Love that perfect forest in the mirror photo at top!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

Don’t you love that graphic live-action music score? Very enjoyable.
The apple tree is mostly for the deer, not sure the type (of apple) but on the small side.

  2. Hear, hear, Pat! Me too, lol Very cool.

I’ve been enjoying reading the Hobbomock Chronicles. In fact, heading over to 16 as soon as I leave here :)
Hopefully your warm weather will be consistent. It is after all, mid May, lol

  3. Lisa Tomey says:

Wow! Those blossoms! You’ll be knee high in 🍎s ! Nice gratefuls😊

  4. Kristi says:

Your apple tree is so beautiful! I might have to go show the photo to the literal stick (no branches) of an apple tree we just planted, just so it has some idea of what it is supposed to become. lol.

Invoked #6 in my post this week, too.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

lol (famous Lombardi scene: ‘This is an apple’)

And you cited the BoSR/SBoR quite well.

  5. phyllis0711 says:

I like our apple tree especially since we don’t follow the pruning guidelines; instead of being short and full, we have something nymph-like.

  6. Of course time elapsed is subjective. How long a minute takes depends on which side of the restroom door you are on.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      lol. exactly

..so, Time is an emotion, is that your position?
(Good thing I’m commenting in the evening rather than the morning, or there would be an entire post to follow up on your insight.)

  7. dyannedillon says:

Your apple tree is gorgeous. I really need to get my shizz together and write a 6 Sentence Story.
