Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
Denise provides the prompt word.
We write a story that is exactly and otherwise, precisely, six sentences in length.
This week’s prompt word:
SIMPLE
“Simple?”
“Very.”
“So tell me!”
“Once upon a time there were three fictional characters: two were perfect and one was jealous.
The couple’s perfection was spoiled, the jealous one was prevented from getting what he longed for and everyone that came afterwards bears the mark and pays the price; the End.”
“Damn!”
Nicely done!
thank you, Mimi
LOL. …damn! :D
lol indeed
Well Done!
thanks, Lisa
Sad but true. But there is redemption. Great six, you always surprise. And you always impress.
thanks, man
damn!
perfect six
By Golly, that about sums it up. Now how can we use that little phraseology to control the masses?
that would be cool, non?
Wow! Pretty amazing plot twist, isn’t it? I think we should have you do a “condensed version” of the rest of the Book just like this… simply put!
lol the Six Sentence version?
Wow, Clark, I think you should receive some kind of award for the shortest SSS ever! Are you going to tackle the rest of the story? :-)
well, jeez, Hollywoods been doing (and re-doing) the story (and parts thereof) ever since… should be able to! lol
Great job! I had to chuckle a little at my mom’s question of whether or not you were going to tackle the rest of the story. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints tend to view the story of Adam and Eve a little differently–believing that Eve recognized the need to partake of the fruit, and that she counseled with Adam. Anyway, a verse in the Book of Mormon sums it up: “Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.” 2 Nephi 2:25 (I might add, joy means joy through the redemption that comes through Jesus Christ.) Anyway, six sentences would be stretching out one! :-)
(lets see):
‘Click’
“Hey! There are my golf clubs.”
“Not Today, You have work to do.”
(Hey! There’s an idea! A contest to guess passage!)
Hmm, my first thought was Moses, but Noah and even Jonah came to mind. It seems that many of those called by God were not seeking the jobs they were given.
good point!
Great take on Simple. Short and to the point :)
Thanks, Susan
Simple and to the point.
ty, bb
Whoa! That was gooood!
Thanks.
Should be fun.
I (obviously) love that pulp detective/1st person genre. It’s a lot of fun to write.
