please be aware that your call and subsequent interactions will be recorded.”

That phrase? I totally heard it on the phone when calling a large, corporate entity. Yow, I know!

Six Sentences (One) Story

I want everyone to join in this week. Write a story. Make it exactly Six Sentences. Link it at zoe’s blog. It’ll be fun!

The photo above? I have no idea what that image has to do this week’s Six. As it is, at the moment I’m trying to keep my eyes open as I type. It’s 8:53 pm and I’m in danger of nodding off. If I can only keep moving (and awake) for maybe fifteen minutes more, I should get my second wind and get some writing done.

Entrance.

“Hey, quit ya pushing, I’m not the one holding us up,” Tommy muttered, as much to himself as the kid behind him; he didn’t bother to turn around, ’cause from the sound of it, that kid was being pushed too.

Somewhere ahead was a sound, and a flash of something that hurt his eyes, (like when you walked out of the side fire-doors of a movie theatre after the matinee); the sound, that was like the yell from the top of a roller coaster, though, sometimes it was more like what you heard when they were giving shots in the nurses office.

The walls were only an elbow away and was covered with writing, but it only started to made sense if you weren’t trying to read it; the floor was smooth and at a slant and the ceiling, the ceiling was the worst. The one (and only) time Tommy looked up, the line seemed to speed up; worse, the writing on the wall seemed to mean something he thought he could understand, but the feeling in his stomach was awful, so he went back to watching the boy in front.

The flashes/shouts up ahead lasted longer and the intervals were starting to turn into one thing, when Tommy noticed he was yelling.

Feeling a sudden, desperate wish to go somewhere else, as Tommy stepped/was pushed forward, he saw scrawled on the wall, ‘Entrance to adulthood; the good is great, the bad is awful, one way only.’

Tuesday -the Wakefield Doctrine- ‘…of secondary/tertiary aspects, Cynthia and ‘Home and Heart: Chapter 2’

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Ulysses-sirens-Draper-L

Today’s post: a question inferred by a comment over the weekend, Cynthia and Chapter 2 of ‘Home and Heart’ Lets get the week started!! (Tuesday? are  you sure?  … well then, I guess we better hurry up.)

Whats the deal with secondary and tertiary aspects and how can I tell:

We are, all of us, are born with the capacity to experience the world as characteristic of all three worldviews. As an Outsider (clark), a Predator (scott) or a Herd Member (roger). At a very early age we settle on/into one of these three. From that point forward we experience the world as does the clark, scott or roger; we learn to deal with/adapt to/contend with and master the people, places and things that make up our world. (A scott experiences the world as one of predator/prey and develops his/her hunting and fleeing skills, a roger experiences the world as one that is quantifiable, knowable and works on learning to express the rules of correct living and a clark hides and hopes to discover the information that will make her/him real and therefore acceptable to others.)

But…. but! what of ‘the other two’ worldviews? Good question! We never lose the ‘capacity’ to experience the world as we would if we had developed as the other two. Sometimes there is a strong affinity for a worldview that is not the predominant worldview. I’m a good example. I’m a clark (Outsider) but I am also here…writing (a lot) and even posting videos (yeah, videos of a clark, like that’s a natural occurrence) all in the name of this here Doctrine here, That’s evidence that I have a significant secondary scottian aspect. Some people have significant secondary aspects. Some people do not. Those that do not, all though they are 100% of their predominant worldview, still retain, as do we all, the potential to experience the world as do ‘the other two’.

Cynthia has this website. Intuitive and Spiritual. She is doing remarkable work with it, exploring the potential of reality (for herself) and making available whatever she might learn (for the rest of us). she is a clark (with a significant secondary scottian aspect and a decent tertiary rogerian aspect). In any event, Cynthia is doing one of those on-line things through ‘the Facebook’ today. So, I can’t find where I saw the time (that she would be online) I think it was 12-1 (or maybe 1-12… or Thursday… you’ll find her)  The Facebook link  and, to be on the safe side, this is link to her site Intuitive and Spiritual. (tell her, the Doctrine sent ya, she might still talk to you…lol)

TToT -the Wakefield Doctrine- “…wait a minute, you can’t do that! it’s …it’s just not done!”

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

20170308_172749

Not a lot of bandwidth left, will be brief: Lizzi ->Ten Things of Thankful ->(years fly by) -> Josie -> TToT ->new curatorship ->new and old participants.

Seeing how we’re all now used to how much…. er  latitude is allowed (encouraged, really, as Josie being a writer of no small ability), to take the road less travelled, I thought I’d submit this TToT. (Have my Romance Writers of Rhode Island meeting today, and… and! I’m to bring (some) of the refreshments.*

1)  Saturday Morning:

2) Anticipatory Item: the Wakefield Doctrine Rite of Hat. If you take a photo of yourself wearing a Wakefield Doctrine hat standing in front of a place or a thing, then you have every right to claim ownership. It worked (for a while) for Spain and Portugal! (see: Treaty of Tordesillas)

3) Estes Park, Colorado

4) Rhode Island Romance Writers

5) hey! Kerry!! we’re a bit more cinematographic than usual this week. The first video is a youtube clip from an old (as in way before you, or, I fear, most readers were born)… a feature from the Rocky and Bullwinkle show. There is audio and the animation is nothing to write home about. The second vid is from one of my Doctrine road trips, in this case to Colorado and the Stanley Hotel. The Stanley Hotel is a hotel (in the style and architecture of the grand resort hotels, all cupolas and porches and formal lawns) in the Rockies, famously used as an establishing shot in one of the movie versions of Stephen King’s ‘The Shining’.  The video is of my Wakefield Doctrine hat as I pan from hotel to mountains and back again. Now that I see the vid, I really should be claiming to be a pioneer of the selfie… this having been taken 5 or 6 years ago.

6)  The ‘fact of Ola’. Not to indulge in the metaphysical** but those in our lives, present and departed become a part of us, (imo), in a very real sense. Not simply memories of the times spent together, but in the way that we relate ourselves to the world around us every day going forward.

8) the Book of Secret Rules (aka the Secret Book of Rules) this collection of written and un-written ‘Rules’, are the inferred license to further engage in the community here at the TToT. (There’s an old Hibernian saying, “rules, schmules… the only effective rules are those we make up ourselves.“), meaning, of course, that even at a bloghop such as one titled Ten Things of Thankful, it is the intention of the participants that is paramount, the intention to share parts of our individual realities that cause us to feel grateful and, by sharing it, allow others to identify with the experience. ya know?

9) Saturday Night

10) Secret Rule 1.3  (see Item 8)

* maybe not the Algonquin Roundtable, but this is a group of rather talented and quite accomplished authors. Being invited*** to bring some of the refreshments, though I am not inclined to eat in public, implies that I am that much closer to being accepted into the ranks (or rankquetts) of this rather interesting writers group

** yeah, right

*** well,  I kinda waved my hand from the back of the class… “Hey! Hey!”1

1)  Students of the Wakefield Doctrine (yeah, I’m thinking Cynthia and Denise and Lizzi and zoe) are all, smiling at themselves and nodding with one of those rounded thought balloons over they heads,  “Ah!! His secondary scottian aspect asserting itself. It is so true that clarks, though they do not enjoy being the center of attention, will not tolerate being ignored.”
