‘…this just in!’ the Wakefield Doctrine “…on involvement, entanglements and a need to belong”

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Thursday the 1st of ‘god-I-can’t-believe-the-Summer-is-ending’ August, 2013

snow-bikinis_london

Thought I would try a quick1 Post. The motivating reason is that, nowadays my time for the rest of the week is claimed by 2 of 3 favorite bloghops2 and so, of late I haven’t been doing much Doctrine-centric Posts between Friday and Monday.

But lets get ourselfs all current on the everthang:

  • Cyndi is done with her current set of classes, going as a student to the school there, but I believe she has an art exhibt coming up within the week! So any of you Readers in the Mt Airy/ Siler City  area, might want to set some time aside and go over there and support our DownSpring
  • Considerer is also preparing for some changes…she is totally doing things the right way! a) Secure the sought-after new job, 2) get them to agree to the Summer off!  lol  ask her yourself, she runs the TToT on weekends
  • TToT on weekends!! this is something that you need to try. I’d pitch it as an invigorating and inspiring bloghop about gratitude and that would be true except for 2 things: it runs the entire weekend and  Kristi and Dyanne and Rich Rumple are kind of regular contributors… you’ll find out what I mean if you stop in
  • Melanie has a new gig!  Go to her blog and show some support (when you’re there, look for a link to a couple of other blogs that she may be running, that girl…she industrious
  • Video Brunch!  this coming Sunday at something o’clock  Currently we have done the 9:00 am and the 1:00 pm (EDT) times to accommodate timezones. Let us know what time zones work for you.

I would have done the obvious joke to end this Post. But you all would have seen it coming a mile away. So I won’t. Do the joke. This time. Maybe next time.

(Hey!! does anyone have the Answer key to Michelle’s Quiz? I know I had the answer (to my question) but I can’t find it and she is asking for me to pass in my paper.   Don’t tell her I asked, just let me know).

1) when I started writing this blog, exceeding 350 words was like morning3 sex when you’re over 45…you knew you could, but you can’t help but share the grateful surprise, tinged with some element of personal pride

2) Finish The Sentence Friday (from Janine and Kate and Stephanie and Dawn), TMT Tuesday (Jen and Kristi) and Ten Things of Thankful ( a whole bunch of people lead by Considerer)

3) spellcheck was kind enough to suggest the following spelling: mourning   lol

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

Comments

  1. Cyndi says:

    Seems like the planet is spinning in a good direction what with all these glad tidings! <–I might never have been to the UK, but somehow I'm channeling their dialogue…or something. It's Considerer's fault, lol.
    Classes are done…and I finished the last two papers for them on Tuesday…painting and getting ready for the show on Friday…what the hell am I doing? HAHAHA

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Cyndi

      “…show on Friday” !! ok (we know you can’t take photos of peoples faces and such, at least without them being cool with it)…but we so need a photo (video would be good) of your exhibit! serially, since you know we will be invoking the “oh yeah, we knew Cyndi when….” clause so help us out with some photo evidence!

      (remind me to mention a semi-insight into the a possibly constructive, construct for use in understanding the worldview of rogers!..maybe on the Saturday Night Drive)

  2. Yay! When you start talking about your summer ending, then I know our summer is just around the corner and winter is almost done. It was 28 degrees here today though, felt like November! Exciting to see some of the other bloggers going through changes too right now – must be something in the air ;) Thanks for the shout out! I might be able to make the Sunday brunch (I’ll try!) if it’s at 1pm. I think that would mean that the time here is around 6am? Oh gosh, lol! I’ll definitely join a few in summer because I’m up when the sun is up!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Melanie

      …our days are showing shorter, so you must be starting to feel the difference at the end of the day. oh! that’s right! thats warm lol (thinking that in our November 28 degrees (F!!) is not unusual.

      Definitely good things are happening ’round the Doctrine. I will encourage everyone to tell tales (aka write a Post) about their new workplaces and the people and all. (This would perhaps be of interest to Steer Career and is totally of interest to us at the Wakefield Doctrine).

      about those timezones!! We seem to be in your past, so when we do a V Brunch at 1:pm EDT We are catching Considerer (UK) at near supper…6:00pm check your local listings and we will make the necessary adjustments. Besides the 1:00pm EDT, we have done these at 9:00am EDT (made it early afternoon UK) and 9:00pm (!) where Michelle is… So for the sake of those who have not weighed in, lets put out 2 tentative times: 9am EDT and 1pm EDT

  3. Considerer says:

    Cyndi – quite happy for you to absorb some Englishness (though I feel ‘glad tidings’ tend to be more suited to yuletide…)

    And yes to pictures of your exhibition :)

    I got all the answers to Michelle’s quiz…in the end. But I submitted and deleted, so I can’t remember

  4. Ah. The 9 p.m. slot works great for me, Clark. Have a few Roger questions to ask you.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Michelle

      ..(which is 9:00am EDT) yes …I will plan on both times (here at Doctrine Central)…

      Looking forward to your questions, as I will have questions of my own for you… and the view from the rogerian center

      Hey, I just noticed the link on your Comment is petsawarenews.com would like this as your link on the blogroll? (I currently have gettingliteral.com ) but either one works. Lets me know.

  5. Use Muses, that’s fine.

  6. Am honored to be on the roll, either way!

  7. I had a really good comment but am hung up on the fact that long blog posts are like morning (and mourning) sex after 45.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Kristi

      thank god (this you got a laugh/chuckle/smile out of that…) granted I like the oh-so subtle approach to humor, but if it weren’t for you, I would give up on the secret funny lines (which would, of course means I would have to resort to making myself laugh which as we all know is like…)

  8. Jak says:

    I found it! How the hell would I forget the one with your Doctrine Booth Babes featured! I love me some snow when in that context…

    So, as I was saying before the interwebs went wonky…

    Ah nothing like mourning sex*… ACK

    I have found (especially during daily challenges) that by being involved in so many blog hops it can almost act like a double edge sword. On one hand, you have a scheduled posting system with a theme/prompt, which really can help in durdling out material. BUT, being involved with too many means you do a whole lot of material, but nothing specifically for your own said blog (even though it is, in a way, but you know what I mean). I contemplated both the FTSF and Mixed-Tape (especially this one — liking the theme and changing prompt of incrementally transversing generations), but in the end knew I wouldn’t be writing my already lacking own material of sorts. Now, this isn’t to say Trailer Tuesday doesn’t do the same, as it isn’t source material I would like to eventually get out like the RS Cover topic, but I can consider it “mine” and I treat it like a personal blog hop of one I guess. Helps with scheduling and motivating to get it up each Tue**.

    *Isn’t that what all married couples eventually resign to?
    **Now if only I could get this motivation behind commenting in timely fashions***
    ***Mainly, setting a challenge of doing the commenting of TToT over the weekend and worrying about catching up on other posts after the fact.****
    ****Be more “in the moment”*****
    *****That’s Zen
