TToT -the Wakefield Doctrine- next up in ‘the Big Three (of holidays and such)’

Welcome to Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

So here’s my concern: this is a gratitude blog hop. Everyone is invited to participate by sharing the things that they are grateful for in their lives. These things can be anything, i.e. people, places, things, events, anything. The theme is Ten Things (of Thankful), and so, all are requested to write a post that includes ten things. (yeah, this is a long way to go for a single, yet silly joke… but I’m into this thing for 89 words already, too late to give up now!) The thing of it is, and my obvious concern, is what happens this week, which contains a holiday (for those of us in the Middle of North America), that’s called Thanksgiving. I mean, damn! By my calculation either a) the mere inclusion of this past Thursday in my grat list should, (per suam sufficientiam)1 automatically fill in the other 82 or 2) consume my keyboard and monitor in, like a blackhole, (which, for some reason, sounds really terrible), of thankfulness, leaving only a smoldering and singed Hallmark Moment card on my desk….

2) hey! I’m still here! I didn’t get pulled into a frilly, pink satin-lined tesseract!3 (and yeah, I totally will be comfortable submitting that as an item of this here list here)

3) Vidchats!  yeah!  had one last night, with my ‘sphere spouse Lizzi (aka Laura4) and it was splendid! (I can use language like that with complete assurance…having a ‘sphere spouse, of course.  (Nearly) everyone was there  zoe and lisa and denise and sarah and a new chatmate kerri! very good time (got some way good input on the writing from all)

4) Graviteers! you know how in most cultures, there’s like a, well, not a defining event, more of a exemplary event…. where the best and the most (fill in your own highly valued and/or sought quality for living a better life.. like that, only cooler)gifted are on display? well, thats what Thanksgiving Week is for those who participate in the Gravity Challenge…. which, this year, 2015, was christine, val, lisa, kristi, joy and sarah…. thrill of victory, yo… the thrill of victory!

5) I had a decent enough week at work, so I can put that …here, right?

6) Six Sentences damn!  (sort of like getting on the parallel bars in high school gym… (obviously not as cool as the high bar, which saw only the mutantly strong rogers and the pre-jail-sentence scotts), and not the baby climb-the-rope-until-you-got-high-enough-to-see-over-the-divider-to-where-the-girls-were-having-easy-fun-playing volley ball)… Six Sentence is the kind of exercise that is easy to admire those who do participate and appears just barely doable enough to convince me to climb my ass up on the bars, where I’m like totally visible to the whole class and even kids in the corridor, so then, you gotta do something!   thanks zoe!

7) Una for representing the best in lifeforms

8) Phyllis and her tree house, which, I am fairly certain, is going to get like, totally Christmas decorated ….photos in the coming weeks

9) Blogdominion!   Chapter 6 is out and Chapter 7 is due Sunday evening…. read and let me know your thoughts, (given that, by definition, you’re into this ‘writing thing’, or you wouldn’t be, like writing blog posts, am I right?)  so I seek your opinion on the story. thanks

10) SR 1.3 yo, 1.3

1)’by virtue of it’s self-sufficiency’ (or something, hey, it’s Latin… what it really means is not as important as the fact that I respect your readerness enough to go to google translate and cope ‘n paste, ya know?

2) because.. SR 1.3, of course!

3) well, it’s a cube…thing with like properties  here go read  wikipedia

4) Dick Van Dyke Show (1961-1966)  (yeah, most of people weren’t even born yet!)

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

    Frist!

  2. ivywalker says:

Wow surprised to get frist…made the rookie mistake! Ok…i loved the first joke! Totally worth the distance! It WAS a nice vid chat! Im always grateful for the sss participants… I cant wait to see santas little tree house!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      still score the FRIST

      will have photos

yeah ‘cellent vidchat (and both of us old folks stayed up later and remained relatively lucid!)

  3. Vanessa D. says:

I guess it is a double whammy of Thankful for you guys across the border. It’s good to know that you didn’t create an alternate universe or any pink frilly type ones by including a grateful holiday in your grat list.

  4. May says:

I was not only born, I believe by now I have seen every episode at least twice. Oh, Robbbbbbbbbb. MTM was adorable.
    Way to represent, Una!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

What a timecapsule, no? twin beds!! and they were married in the storyline!! (one of my favorite episodes was the one about the aliens and the walnuts…)

  5. Ahhh, work… Thanks to work I’ve been in a hole for months now, only slowly emerging on the other side. Glad you had a good week. Mine was fine as well, luckily.

Thanks, Una, for being a great being! And I totally expect pictures for the decorated tree house!!

    Enjoy your week!!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

yeah (I read at Life Unexpectedly) that there were good and/or positive changes for you at your workplace always a good thing~
speaking of not-enough-time-for-everything, you got to join us on a vidchat! we’ve moved the time up an hour or so, so it’ll be only….12…1…30 …ish? lol

      good thought, anyway

  6. Carin says:

I love video chats. I did it with my two sisters overseas two days ago–beats faceless texting or phone calls.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

agree! you should join us one of these Fridays (we start at about 6:30 EST)… mostly about the ‘sphere and writing that sort of thing….

  7. Even in my germ infested haze, I had to laugh. Nice post. Funny post :)
The vid chat was great. I regret not having been up to par but it was nice to see and hear everyone real time nonetheless!
The Blogdominion story is coming along. I like see characters being “born”. A cool process.
Yes. Pics of decorated tree house. Will look for in the coming weeks!!

  8. lrconsiderer says:

    Dear Rob

And here I was, TOTALLY getting jealous the other day because Kristi has a blog-husband (who’s a loveable asshole, by the way) and UTTERLY forgetting until you reminded me about the twin-bed thing, that I DO TOO! *grins*

I’ve now got the full set, and should probably introduce you to my BlogWife at some point…because she ADORES tree-houses, and if your real-life-wife has one, then I suspect the four of us will get along famously :)

So here’s an extra gratitudinal for your list, and congrats on the gravity challenge, I found my scaled (and also there are some at the gym, though photographing those would be a pain) so I’m TOTALLY up for the next challenge. Mostly because I want to sit at the ‘best losers’ table (see what I did there?*)

Hope you have a fab weekend,

    Laura xo

    *of COURSE you did…

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

…and, of course, us being us, we are virtual spouse(s) based on fictional characters! But then again, isn’t that the real fun of the internet?

Love to have you join us on the Gravity Challenge! You already know everyone there… very few rules, photos first thing in the morning (you’d have little trouble with that, being in the future already}… and that’s about it. We have Kristi’s Rule which simply allows Graviteers to use photos showing as much (or as little) of ‘the numba’ as you wish… full number like Christine or Joy or 1 digit on either side of zero or in-between as I do… the point is to see change… not the total number (not necessarily)
in any event… join us! we go from Monday through Saturday with Sunday off… photos are sent to me in ‘the Facebook’

      • lrconsiderer says:

I have a mechanical scale not a digital one – is that okay? I like Kristi’s rule but I’m afraid it’s going to be the whole shebang as there’s no other way of doing it!

YES to being virtual fictional spouses. Such fun :D

        • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

Christine uses a analogue scale, the key is readability and that’s not for our benefit as it’s yours… send a picture and the number that you see… (again take a look at Christine’s most of the times, depending on the angle, we rely on her giving the number)… nothing wrong with that, it’s just that the digital lets us deal in tenths… remember it’s about ‘the fact of change’ not the amount of change…

          cool!
          very

          • lrconsiderer says:

I don’t do tenths. Mine’s English and it does fourteenths. Always the ornery one, but okay :)

            • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

              ok… lol
weights can be self-reported but the photo of the readout is essential I always post a message in the Facebook, calling for the pitchas I suspect with the time differential your’s will be there already….
(we all have a healthy (dis)regard for the Monday number… it’s a good example of how we view the process… we have to see the number but we are able to remember that it’s only Monday

    • Kristi says:

And just to clarify here–my Mom reads blog posts and comments, after all–the Kristi with the blog husband is the OTHER Kristi. :-)

      • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

Hey!! Mrs Kristi’s Mom… the other Kristi is Kristi Campbell and is nice too, but… she is very different, as she has blonde hair and lives on the East Coast! both are very good and valued Friends of the Doctrine, here in the ‘sphere

  9. valj2750 says:

Wished I could have been in on the vid chat. You must fill me in on the writing info that was discussed. I’ll be reading Chapter 7 tomorrow. And, my site has been giving me many errror messages, and hermes was included in one of them ????????????????????????????????

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

damn! (on the hermes thing lol)
working as we speak on Chapter 7 will follow up in the week on the last vidchat.. was fun

  10. Kristi says:

After the Thanksgiving weekend, my scale reading is more along “the agony of defeat” lines, but I am looking forward to a future “thrill of victory.”

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

I’ve been through the worst (I hope) with Friday’s number, but most of the others did rather well! Val and Joy and Sarah and Lisa…. Christine had been away for the weekend…. but, the key will be in (my) keeping my faith in ‘stable weight’ which is the tendency of the number to go down, provided I don’t overcome it by indulging in a Diet of Despair! lol

  11. christine says:

I’m a bit nervous to step on that scale in the morning. I ate whatever the heck I wanted to eat, and we had TWO days of Thanksgiving with all the trimmings and desserts and leftovers. Gotta make some extra time for the gym this week.
I can’t wait to see the photos of the decorated tree house!
Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving with family.
Also very happy to hear the vidchats are back. Not that I will ever be able to participate, but I know how much fun you all have with them.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

yeah me too (well, actually, I’m replying after the fact… but, that’s what the GC is all about)
will have photos, I think Phyllis is using it (the tree house) on this year’s Christmas cards
      yeah… not bad.
fun… any Friday night, if you find some surprise free time, you totally don’t need an invitation… love to have you stop by

  12. herheadache says:

Ooh, a Christmas decorated treehouse. Love it.
    :-)
Glad to have met you and thanks again for inviting me in the first place.
    I’ll be back.
    :-)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

yeah…. we took some photos but it was daytime and the lights didn’t show (in the photo) all that well, will have it up for the weekend

glad you joined us! hope to do it again this Friday…. watch this space!

  13. amycake76 says:

Yes, absolutely. You are Dick and Lizzi is Mary.

  14. dyannedillon says:

Ohh, I love the Dick Van Dyke show! I get many hits on my blog from the picture I put on a post (a post-hemorrhoid surgery post) where I re-enacted Laura getting her toe stuck in the bathtub faucet while I was laced on narcotics.
I was awol from 6 Sentence Stories this week. I started one, but it made me too sad, so I quit.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

they (Six Sentence Stories) do seem to do that sometimes

      you still have the photo?

Hey! when you have a minute go to Blogdominion I would love to hear your impression of the story do far

  15. Pat B says:

My Kristi’s remark here made me laugh. She can be rest assured I didn’t have any confusion between her and the other Kristi. I didn’t get anything written for Six Sentence Stories last week. I just had to let some things go, but maybe I’ll get something written for it this week. A decorated tree house sounds fun. I imagine Phyllis will have a lot of fun doing that!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

no, as didn’t we… the Six is, like that one day, (often Thursday) when we had gym first period… the ‘oh man!’ was pretty intense, but the flip side was the sense of relief and confidence that the rest of the day held for us… (at least that was the way it would be for clarks in high school…scotts? lol yeah, you don’t need to ask rogers are less certain how they perceived it) which, btw is one of the reasons I feel fortunate to have Your Kristi among us here, she is a roger with sufficient clarklike secondary aspect that results is our learning about that world of the Herd Member more than most rogers are able (or willing) to provide.
