FTSF -the Wakefield Doctrine- ‘lets go visit our friends who got us started on bloghops, way back in ’12 or was it ’10?’

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Friend of the Doctrine, Lizzi, made an appeal today, from her position as spokesbeing at the BB&G* for all readers to either join in the TToT this weekend or jump in on the Finish the Sentence Friday today. Well, all it took…, (as Linda Ronstadt would sing), because the Finish The Sentence Friday is, like, the ‘hop that got us here at the Doctrine totally into the business of bloghops. (Sort of like in high school, where, as a clark, I’d move on the fringes of the established social groups, such as, the jocks, the Honor Society, the voc ed, the proto-hippies, even the tough guys (and surprisingly kind-hearted, but way hot girlfriends) out in the student parking lot, smoking cigarettes… I’d always find one person who had just enough secondary clarklike aspect to  be secret buddies with and sometimes, as I passed through the halls between classes, they’d acknowledge me while they where among their kind and I’d be walking on air the rest of the day) … well, that’s kinda the story with how I got into bloghops. Athough it was Kristi (and Stephanie and Janine and Kate) at the FTSF, who invited me to hang our with cool (virtual) kids in the blogosphere.

So today, over at the FTSF, the show-us-your-heart Sentence fragment is,

“In 1,000 years from now…”

…distance will not be a factor, in our activities and our relationships. While nothing totally new, the percentage of relationships that are necessarily embedded in a physical connection, (birth, reproduction, death and the-chance-encounter-with-a-person-that-makes-a-list-like-this-totally-moot), will be way, way higher. Just as the human race got through a couple of thousand years of self-development predicated on a relationship with a god/high power/supreme being, i.e. never in the same room with, so human culture and society becomes un-tethered to the touch-me, hit-you, hold-me, where-have-you-gone paradigm.

It will be the best of times, it will be the worst of times….

*long story, but that’s our acronym for the Bloppy Bloopers group on ‘the Facebook’

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

The FTSF are really the cool kids, aren’t they and we are so happy to be invited to the table!! In a thousand years I hope distance will continue not to be a factor in how friends are met.

  2. Kristi Campbell - findingninee says:

It wasn’t until my senior year in high school that I realized I could just sit on the cool-kids bench. I was always on the fringes though. Cool way to finish the sentence – so glad you joined! And now, a cigarette please!

  3. lrconsiderer says:

I was never one of the cool kids. But you knew that. You always knew that. Gosh, this feels like old times, doesn’t it?

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      (smiles) yes, yes it does.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

as a matter of fact, it was on this bloghop that we ‘met’, for this I will be eternally grateful to Kristi and them

(even if I had to get past your guard scott… hey, whats the greek myth about cerebus being bribable or something…. have to look it up)

      • ivywalker says:

Cerebus may have been bribable but never Christine.

      • lrconsiderer says:

I rather think you charmed her over than bribed her ;)

        • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

yeah, “clarks hath charms that soothe the…”

          • lrconsiderer says:

            Sometimes.

          • lrconsiderer says:

If only we could EVER fucking charm ourselves…

            • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

(lol)… but would …no, could we still respect ourselfs in the morning?

              • lrconsiderer says:

                *sigh*

                • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

..no, my previous comment was (an) all-too-familiar part of the script of a clark… while accurate, it is no longer (thanks, in part, to the Wakefield Doctrine and to the opportunity to identify with and follow the progress of other clarks (this is where the person reading over your shoulder, nudges you with their elbow and say, in a not-unkind way, ‘hey! he’s talking about you!’) inevitable.

                  ya know?

                  • lrconsiderer says:

True. True. I CAN step outside my own norms. If I bother lol

                    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

(but then again, seeing how we’re such pushovers…why bother lol)

                    • lrconsiderer says:

There’s that. Which is why I so often don’t. And why my shoulder often gets read over. I want my scott back. She’s missing.

                    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

inherent (in us all) never missing for good.
(hey I had an experience, while you were on your walkabout. really amazing, fantastically difficult to describe, what I ended up with was another wordtool* in any event, as a clark you might get a sense of what happened.)
(Preface for anyone reading this: the Doctrine insists that we all are heir to all three of the worldviews, it’s just that one is predominant and shapes our day-to-day world, we can however, through chance or duress or circumstance find ourselves relating to the world around us as do ‘the other two’.)
so, I was at a closing. I’m alone (client not attending). seated across the table was the buyers agent and his two clients, a totally cute, young couple. We’re waiting for the attorney to start the closing. So I sit. and the other agent and his clients (did I mention they were young? 24 or 25… the agent about the same age)…. anyway they’re all talking and interacting, waiting for things to start. maybe it was my location…close, just across a conference table or maybe it was the linearity of the seating… they were on the opposite side of the table, next to each other. but out of nowhere, I realized that what was going on in there conversation was an illustration or manifestations or some -ation that they were relating (to each other) with an entirely different rhythm than I was experiencing. I still don’t know why this carried as much weight or implied significance but I was all, like ‘holy shit! not only the way they’re talking, but the way they’re answering each other… its’ a different rhythm

the value of this insight was diminished a bit but I’m suspecting that it (focusing on rhythm) might represent a workaround to the problem that all clarks face… how to know without thinking

                      ya know?

*anything that acquires the capacity to inspire, provoke or otherwise help me find other perspectives on the world around me on any given day…

                    • lrconsiderer says:

                      What were you expecting?

                    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

not expecting anything and, as to the fact that they were different (by virtue of being younger), that was not what the impact (of the experience)…. it was more the type of knowing that I experienced (this is where words let me down). There is knowing (of information and such) that, were we talking about this (or nearly any other situation) we would make observations and interpretations… and everything that goes on in the head. But this experience was more visceral… I don’t want to imply emotional because (the event) did not elicit any emotions… it was simply a direct experience of the fact of the difference (between them as people and me).
told ya words were tough on this one!
there was power in the the direct apprehension of the difference (of) the rhythm between us, it was a real knowing of the reality of the difference among realities… lol
you know how clarks will know stuff about the world and people and even themselves? and how, with all the information at our disposal. we can’t seem to connect? this was the connection without the information. and the incredible value it has (although my ‘grasp’ on this thing has faded, like an adolescent re-dreaming of an encounter with a dreamed of person… I know that I felt something and it was special, it just doesn’t feel as special now as I know it did in that moment of recognition
                      ya know?

                    • lrconsiderer says:

I like that. Connection without the information, like eye contact with a stranger, but it’s okay. Maybe.

                      I think I get it :)

                    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

(Told you the words were slippery on this one…which is, as it must be, as words, to a clark, manifest as ‘the only way’ of apprehending the world… we are incorrect in this, (yeah, I know!) I might even go so far as to say, this sensing the rhythm thing is to grab a piece of the reality (of the other two) and make it a part of our own… or something like that

                    • lrconsiderer says:

Words. So expanding and constricting all at once, sometimes!

                    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

fortunately the Wakefield Doctrine is there to remind us that everything (even something as fundamental as ‘words’) manifests differently in the three worldviews… here in our worldview, words hold the greatest of potential value and power

                    • lrconsiderer says:

                      Explains SO MUCH :D :D :D

  4. So I also got into the hops through FTSF. A testament to the kind and open atmosphere that Kristi et al. have established here!!!! Glad to see you again….

  5. Dana says:

Cool kids are totally overrated. Fun and kind kids are much better, and that is this group. No invitations or initiations, just join. Good to connect with you again!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

yeah… though it seems like just last year, I probably would be shocked as to how long ago I started with the FTSF
