TToT -the Wakefield Doctrine- ‘we have lists and stories and videos and ever so many interesting things this week, you simply must join us!’

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

This Week, we got it all!  a Video Grat Item, a link and a request to go and read the latest project to come out of Doctrine Central….and tree houses and turning leaves, planting grass and ignoring the early morning dark. Sure, your typical pre-TToT week of activity!  Oh, and our illustrious Leaderini is back (maybe not re-acclimated but at least people are no longer speaking with accents wherever she goes).

Hey Facebook-TToT-page-person!! You know most of the participants here every weekend are, like, skilled and totally eloquent in their TToT Posts! If you have a problem with that… you can come and hang out with us at the Doctrine!

1)You the Reader…. sine qua non, binyons, sine qua non.

2)  hey!! Speaking of Readers and Reading!  I have a favor to ask. I’m embarked on the ordeal* of writing a Serial (no!  nothing to do with Frosted Flakes, Dyanne!…. although, now that I think of it… back in the day, I suspect you might have preferred Lucky Charms (they were, after all, magically delicious)…  where was I?? I’m asking you to go and read the first entry in the Online Serial, ‘Blogdominion’   there is a place to vote and follow and all the usual things and… thank you.   (damn! that was kinda weak, is there a roger in the house!?!  lol)

3)lawn work… trying to replant grass in the front yard. They say that you use 23 muscles to walk, 57 muscles to run up the stairs at the office, (and not  actually gasp and sound like you’re totally out of breath when you get to the top of the stairs where the 27 year old new agent is politely waiting for you to finish your climb, with what you want to believe is a an expression of respect and admiration on her face, but is, in fact, a reflection of the internal debate whether she should be dialing 911, but you know that you need to smile and say something clever), but …but! it takes 123 muscles to rake the front yard… I believe them.

4)speaking of front yards, we went for our Friday Walk yesterday…. went to Farmer Brown’s (“…them’s some mighty smelly cows, by Jesus!“) grateful for the car and the camera… video in Item 5

5) video of Friday October 9 2015  ‘Walk by Farmer Brown’s Cow Place’

6) Phyllis who is, at the moment, wrestling with the washing machine…. being a roger, she has a pretty fair chance of getting the thing to work again, unfortunately, being a roger, the solution might involve sealing off the laundry room and allowing the entire space to perform the rinse cycle, there is no underestimating the power of duct tape!

7) total gratitude for the Wakefield Doctrine… it is simply amazing! That I’m writing this? …Wakefield Doctrine. That I apparently get a kick out of trying to figure out how to write better …the Wakefield Doctrine! That I have friends in the blogosphere? …that’s right! the Wakefield Doctrine.

8) the Book of Secret Rules (aka the Secret Book of Rules)… one of the coolest things about this here bloghop here  (new readers?  questions on the BoSR/SBoR?  zoe is the life form!  she has a link to a great explanation!

9) oh yeah!  all my homies at the Gravity Challenge and at Six Sentence Story  hey!

10) Welcome back Lizzi!

*not as bad a thing as the word might imply… Lizzi knows (hell, all clarks intuitively recognize the value of framing (an) effort as an ordeal…. ask them)

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

    FRIST

  2. amycake76 says:

I wonder why your little tracker fella over there says I’m in Chevy Chase, MD instead of Silver Spring.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

as I understand it, it’s locating the server (that you gain access to the net from….like the on ramp, not necessarily the first one, but definitely the on ramp).

      nice shoes*

*an old joke I used to use when people were concerned about that widget

    • christine says:

Now that you mention it, it says I’m from Plymouth, Indiana. I didn’t even know there was such a place. (And thanks for the explanation, Clark.)

      • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

it’s funny I can see the difference when I go online from my phone (showing me in Norwood MA) versus the computer here at work…Westerly not sure why it’s accurate in one and not the other…

        • amycake76 says:

Well, it usually says SS, but that kind of freaks me out so I don’t mind the CC. Your #3 made me laugh out loud (I don’t do the acronym). I wonder if duct tape would get the standpipe to stay in that hole in the wall it’s supposed to in our laundry room.

          • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

Duct tape is rather remarkable (witness ‘zoe of the Car of Fabric-backed Tape’ !)
that business of age versus condition (in the context) of supporting our hoped for reality… ain’t easy!

  3. Denise says:

    Nice damn TToT today. Excellent!
I voted! Yes, I hope it showed I voted over at Blogdominion! Did you create the cover for Blogdominion?

What do you mean she doesn’t like the rain that much?! Una looks like she’s having a great time :D

Love seeing New England fall colors :)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      thankee

No, that’s a default generic cover… might have to have a contest to pick a ‘real cover’…. have to see what I own for photos that might apply

I mean she does not enjoy water (rain or even swimming!) the long hair seems to be the problem, water gets trapped in her ears..

  4. Vanessa D. says:

I hope Phyllis wrestles that washing machine into submission. Country drives and cow manure go hand in hand don’t they?

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

they most surely do… (I was about to say something on the video about how relative bad smells can be… but there were too, too many punchlines clamoring for my attention… but I totally can attest to that… relativity. I still think diesel fumes and rotting fish smells divine.)

  5. christine says:

It most certainly takes many, many more muscles to do yard work than to run, as everyone knows the day AFTER doing yard work. :)
Go Phyllis! I tame machinery by calling people out to tame it.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

yeah… especially raking, there’s these secret muscles in the lower back and the upper shoulders that show up the next day without fail.

  6. valj2750 says:

My husband actually called me a washing machine today (It made me laugh because I have finished the process of laundering 7 loads since I got home from NC). I’ll be popping over to your serial.

  7. ivywalker says:

May I make a suggestion ? (asked the secondary roger and asked no primary roger ever)… You are pretty weak as you said in the asking department. You NEED people to go read and vote Yes? or else you get eliminated right?
After I didnt think my comment went into the site it turns out it went in like 8 times! Oh well… its a great story Clark! You can really write… you can stop being self deprecating about it now… maybe you could move on to your blatant disdain for cows as the thing you can rip yourself apart about….hahahhaha… HI UNA!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

ok… (and thank you for the TL on the updating of my self-concept)

      yeah…frickin cows!

  8. lrconsiderer says:

That might be how I have to view this time – as an ordeal. But yes, those are…um…edifying, if nothing else, and at the moment I am FAILING because I’m being weak and wimpy, and I need to tackle this thing head-on. I’m gonna pretend it’s jet-lag, and re-frame my attitude once I’m less tired. BUT I’ve got a LOT done in a week.

Duct tape should never be underestimated. I’ve seen what Ivy can do with it…wow! And thank you. I’m glad to be back in the hop.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

Ordeals are, of course, contextualizing by clarks for their own benefit. I use it (deeming a thing ‘an ordeal’) to trick myself around the background fear (that all clarks have in their respective worlds).

…and there is the totally-amazing-benefit of identification, in this case, no matter how varied and how well (or not well) described your recent adventures have been, I know how you feel. (And…and! that, contrary to how most of us have approached life, is enough and sufficient to make a beneficial difference in my own damn life).
      thank you

      • lrconsiderer says:

Yes. I think we take from each other on that – we’ve both been there, both done that, both will do the same again in future – and always mindfully (taking notes) in the knowledge that whilst we’re always alone, we also aren’t, and can (if nothing else) be USEFUL in these times when otherwise it might seem more prudent to curl into a ball and cry.

  9. great ride in the country…glad I don’t have smellavision..

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      lol

yeah… I guess Farmer and Mrs Brown don’t really smell the cows the way that we did… but then again, one man’s really awful smell is another man’s smell that launched a thousand ships (to mix and mangle a metaphor)

  10. Sounds like the week was cool, Clark!

  11. Kristi says:

    Great job with the story!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

thank you, Kristi I’m surprisingly enthusiastic about the whole notion of finding out about what happens next to the characters

  12. dyannedillon says:

Frosted flakes, dry. I was not allowed to eat Lucky Charms because all I did was pick the marshmallows out and leave the cereal.
I heavily relied on the Secret Book of Rules this week.
I SWEAR I’m getting back to 6 Sentence Story! I’ve really missed it, but I just have been dead in the brain.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

I knew it! well, it’s selfish, at least of me, you’re so good at this (the Six Stories)…. that it keeps my on my toes, you know, ‘you can only improve when you hangout/write/play with those who are better at (hanging out/writing/playing)

  13. Pat B says:

I enjoyed your video of the cows, but even more so seeing the wonderful rock fences that are so predominant in your neck of the woods. Having grown up on a farm, I’m quite use the the smell of farms but I must admit I never did get used to the smell of hogs, although we both know it isn’t really the smell of either the cows or the hogs, but what they deposit. Although their smelly droppings do make for a lush garden! I’m impressed with the repair skills Phyllis has. Visualizing soap bubbles trying to escape under the door before the last little bit of duct tape gets put in place is an interesting image too. Great beginning on your Online Serial!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

it’s funny how, even though (it seems) that most of us don’t have a huge vocabulary for the large-scale odors and smells, they nevertheless maintain a part of the experience. I often relate to my days fishing, both as an example of the relativism of ‘good smell/bad smell’ and also of the whole body memory that can be found within us all.
rotting fish probably smells bad to a lot of people, but since my experience overall was very positive, it’s not a bad smell….
thank you! I’m aiming to produce Chapter 1 by Friday of this week.

  14. My Grandfather swore by duct tape. Always. Good old standard silver stuff. Now it comes in all manner of fanciness.
I read the serial thing – I saw it and was very confused about what it was or why it was. But I did quite enjoy it and am looking forward to more. I had no idea you did that sort of thing. I think I voted. If I didn’t, tell me. I’ll go back.
I have an image of Phyllis ACTUALLY wrestling – like in a ring – with a washing machine. Hope all turns out OK.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

(…as opposed to swearing at duct tape! lol)
Actually this is the first of such things I’ve tried. The platform/site is a little clunky at first but claims to have hosted the guy who wrote the serial that got published and then turned into the movie ‘The Martian’ I’ve been trying for a number of years to write the definitive book on the Wakefield Doctrine, without success, so I thought, maybe I need to get better at this writing thing and so, naturally I thought, “hey! I should, like write a novel or something un-related and then when I get better skills, I might be more successful with that little ole personality theory.”
makes sense, right?…. (in my defense, I am a clark and our capacity to see the most reasonable path to a goal is not always, as grounded as it might be.)
Planning to have Chapter 1 up on the site by week’s end.
