TToT -the Wakefield Doctrine- “…all the world’s a stage…or maybe a running track…no, it’s a high school cafeteria, sure that’s it!’

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

…tell me that this is not a dog enjoying a Friday evening walk with her human.

1) this week, I’m making my Number 1 T-item this here bloghop here… if for no other reason than the fact that a large percentage of this week’s ’10 Things’,  issues forth from my association with this bloghop

2) Miz Lizzi, (for) being the sine qua non of this band of refined, yet still of bawdy nature, ladies and gentlemen. Having created the focal point, Mrs. R remains the thread that binds the necessarily odd and the unusual, totally diverse takes on life that is the TToT every weekend

3) shout out to Kristi for joining us from the first day of the 2 Mile Run …-ation!  (an example of the best of the internet/virtual world. A blog that allows people to lend mutual and common support in the effort to run…. traverse a 2 Mile course …for the exercise, of course! I invite you to come over and join us. Rules are simple: traverse a 2 Mile Course, record and post your (elapsed) time at the blog and cheer on the others. Do it every day of the week (with Sundays off) or one day a week or!! any combination of that… how often is not a critical factor, we benefit by the fact that others know how it feels, to do a single 2 Mile Run or 6 2 Mile Run(s)… the power of identification.

4) Friday evening walks… I’m grateful to be able to have this time with Una. During the week, it’s out the door at 7 or 7:30 and (sometimes home for lunch) and then back at 7 or whatever… Fridays, since the Daylight is officially being saved, I can get home at 5:30 or 6 and… (the thing is, every day that I get home, I go to the couch that Una spends most of her day on in the lower level of the house and I ask about her day and she listens to me complain about mine…. but on Fridays, no word of a lie, I’ll sit down and say, “You do know what day today is, don’t you?”  and she’s like, totally at the door to the garage) still have daylight.

5) Oh, yeah!  Almost forgot!!  Reserve: Saturday Morning, June 27, 2015 at 10:30 am (EDT) for the First Annual TToT Live… (something ending in -ation). [See Item 6 for Associated information. BoSR/SBoR #5.7 sub chap 7]

6) Way back, seemingly years ago, Lizzi and Michelle (and then Denise and zoe) started doing a Friday Night Vidchat (presented by the Wakefield Doctrine) and somehow, it bing like the first group video chat that most of us had participated in… it was fun.  The First Annual TToT Live (something -ation) will be like that, only different. Not sure exactly how… but then, what else is new?

7) Since I have cited the Book of Secret Rules (aka the Secret Book of Rules),  hey new TToTeers! We have a Book of Secret Rules (aka a Secret Book of Rules) and it’s there for everyone to use and enjoy, benefit from and pay a horrifying high price for using inappropriately (best consult with zoe/ivy… she is the Valide Sultana  of the SGV)

8) I continue to be grateful for the… well, not snowy weather. It’s been my observation that the seasons seem to be running about a month behind. I’ll take it.

9) work… sure, it’s stressful and difficult and, at times, disheartening,  but it’s (also) challenging and satisfying and rewarding…. you know, like Junior High School.

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

  1. Kristi says:

    frist?

  2. Kristi says:

Well, I guess there is some advantage to insomnia–I’m up early enough to claim frist.
Thanks for the shout-out. I actually put the 2milerun on my thankful list this week, too. I appreciate the motivation it provides.

  3. ivywalker says:

Hey , do you know you didnt link in again? Anyhoo… I havent figured out the two mile skipathon yet… I do miss you guys (zoe’s got a roger, zoe’s got a roger) on the vid chat… so I will make every effort to rid my office of clients at that time. Will you please post reminders? I am apt to forget to clean up the schedule as I am not at work today… Thanks for the cool idea… I would love to meet some more of the TToT people! Dont work too much or too hard… I was looking forward to the Una walk vid… I will have to go watch a repeat!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

you know…. (make sure skip’s out of the room….) someone has to traverse the 2 miles, species affiliation is not a requirement, I was thinking…. “hey skip, here by the drivers side door… you like the fresh air…I’ll drive slow… this leash isn’t too confining is it?…hey only 1.3 miles left to go”

lol (of course it would have to be a combined elapsed time….)

      just kidding, Skip!!

  4. Denise says:

Anyone who thinks dogs don’t speak the human language or have a concept of what day of the week it is….is crazy! lol No doubt Una tracks your schedule in the notebook she hides under the couch.

Nice list this week Clark. I look forward to the TToT chat. Will be fun!

The 2 Mile thing. I will join when I have means to document my walks even though I walk every day! Identification is an invaluable resource and source of strength.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

it (the Live TToT) should be interesting… I suspect I’ll have to make special arrangements to get some cereal in the house so I can eat while T’ing… though I suspect I’ll be in shock over how many breakfast cereals that I remember do not exist anymore!

(do they still make Coco Puffs… Sugar Smacks.. Sugar Pops or Frosted Flakes anymore?)

      • ivywalker says:

All of them….except Im not sure about sugar pops….remember the cowboy on the box? Those were a personal fav. But I haven’t seen them in stores for years…

        • ivywalker says:

I stand corrected. Was buying special K at CVS ( a plethera of letters there…) and saw corn pops… aka sugar pops…

  5. valj2750 says:

Valide Sultana. So fancy. And #8 has been our experience for awhile. You know how much I love November bike rides at the beach. I will attempt to participate on the 27th, but this girl needs lots of technical direction. Also thinking about spurring myself for the 2 mile challenge. I hate the treadmill though. So weather permitting. . . . . . . I might commit.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

…given that there is a clark at the helm, I’ll say, ‘psshaw! commitment?!?! don’t trouble your pretty little head, m’dear! the (secret) metaphysical goal is to nurture the here and now… join us today that’s all that matters… traverse…record time…send in photo done! and the cool thing is, we benefit on the day that others participate… whether a person is like the perfect record-every-fircken day champ or…not…does not diminish or otherwise affect the value of doing this thing as a group

      • valj2750 says:

I went for a walk with my sister this afternoon. Perhaps it was two miles. I didn’t time it though. It was nice.

        • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

a fully notarized statement… “the big hand was on and the little was on…. when I left”… lol no, this is a stress and pressure free zone… no worries (though, I think that for those with a photographical proof of time, a full, insightful and heartfelt description of the path of the walk will work as a substitute!

  6. Vanessa D. says:

Our weather seems a bit behind here too – or maybe it’s just I’m a lot ahead of where I usually am?

I am convinced dogs are psychic – I know my boys know before I say anything if I’m thinking of bringing them with me for errands or leaving them behind. Not that it stops them from asking to go along when I’m not, but they get a lot more excited to see my purse in hand if I was thinking to take them. When they are left behind, Jackson the shepherd, voices his displeasure as I back out of the driveway.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

…I remember taking Ola to obedience training (’cause we were going to be the best of parents…and everyone knows a dog needs to go to school)…anyway, there, like 10 lessons and well, she wasn’t so into the learning thing (and this was back in the day with choke chain collars and such)… in any event,, the trainer was a first order roger and was starting to make fun of us in the last couple of lessons, so on the way to the ‘Final Exam’ (seriously, in order to get the Certificate we had to demonstrate the whole set of behaviors…in front of the class) I had a talk with Ola and wouldn’t you know it… the dog who refused to do any of the stay, wait etc… totally aced it. And on the ride home it was all… alright! we done with that shit!

      • Vanessa D. says:

Louie is okay at the obedience stuff, although it gets a bit hairy when treats are involved. Jackson – the shepherd – lives for that shit. Teach him something new and he’s in heaven. But yeah, they do amaze me with their ability to just ‘know’ when it really counts.

  7. Blogitudes says:

June 27th. A live chat sounds fun. I will try to make it. :) And this Secret Book of Rules… I’m a fairly new TToTer and I keep hearing about this book, but I have yet to find and read it. That must be part of the secret, too I guess – where to find the book of rules. :)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

the Book of Secret Rules (aka the Secret Book of Rules) allows anyone who wishes to cite a rule to their own benefit to do so, provided you make us all believe that the Rule is valid… of course, being a Secret Book of Rules… there are no limits to what you or me or anyone might discover!
      ..it’s quite the Book!

  8. fangboner1 says:

Oh how I wish I could run again. Can’t do it.

One day I will get it together enough to do the vid chats.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

we have a few weeks… all it will take is to download google ‘hangouts’ and you’ll be all set!

  9. lrconsiderer says:

“odd and unusual” is right. Glad to provide such consistency.

I’m awed at the 2 miles per day. I know *I* have no consistency.

Damn I can’t remember the rest to you, either!

  10. lrconsiderer says:

THAT was it – 3.30 in the afternoon right? Or I’ll for real be there on Tuesday and it will be Dyanne’s fault…

  11. amycake76 says:

Two mile run club! That’s just about all I can do! And I only go once a week (Sundays–my morning off, as you may remember). I’m very, very slow. Very. I think I ran two miles this morning in about 26 minutes.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

dude! that’s about my time (when I started last week)… you totally have to join in (whenever you can… unlike too many things in life, the 2 Mile Run does not require commitment other than to join in when you can and share the benefits of participation)
all we need is a photo of your elapsed time! (try either at the site (on the blog roll here) or on the Facebook

  12. christine says:

I’m not even what one would call a dog person, and I know they can be wicked smart. They understand English, and maybe even days of the week.
I couldn’t have been more surprised by your 2 mile initiative. I just didn’t think of you as someone who would go out for a run, let alone a run every day. Perhaps it’s because I know what your “walks” with Una look like. I’m glad you started it. You even made my thankful list!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      I saw that! thanks!

…actually I’m not the running type, at least not in the normal sense (yeah, knock you over with a feather)…. I’ve been trying to find the best way to say, maybe in the ‘About’ page at the 2 Mile Run… part of this ventures is not to get healthy, it’s to not get old. (For me old means… limited movement, with limited movements comes limited options, with limited options, the world becomes limited, with limitations comes increasing limitations…. so I move and run and keep the joints and cardiovascular and such working to the best they can…a and the second part (of the reason for the 2 Mile Run) is this blogging and interacting with my imaginary friends like you and Kristi and zoe and Lizzi and them… yeah, I know! strange

  13. I just love your #4. Animals certainly do have a way of understanding their people and as has been said before here, anyone who thinks they don’t communicate has never had one. As much as mine drive me insane, these three Rotten Cats completely get me. It’s nice.
The 2-mile thing…I’m in (in theory) and just may attempt to get that to happen this week. Stay tuned.
I love the TToT and all of its refined and bawdy gang. That’s all.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

would love to have you join us! (as you know)… there is no ‘commitment requirement’… join us for once a week or 6 times a week (or any other combination)…only requirement: distance is 2 Miles and send us your elapsed time… this is not a race (hell, in some cases* it’s not even a ‘run’) just traverse the 2 Miles of your choice and add your support to the group

      * speaking for myself for large sections of my 2 Miles
