…in with the few, the blue the new!!! that’s it! -the Wakefield Doctrine- ‘rise and find, binyons!’

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

sure, it's not Sunday morning, but this is my boy Edward H

sure, it’s not Sunday morning, but this is my boy Edward H

…trying a few things different with today, ( Anno Dominoes 2015), starting with conveying my hopes and wishes of the best of all possible timelines for the next 12 months to all of the Readers, fans, followers, DownSprings and friends of the Wakefield Doctrine.

Since I have not yet reduced the next year of my life into a concise, reasonable and surely-will-come-to-pass-provided-I-think-it-through-carefully-enough-and-pick-the-perfect-set-of-words, including bulletpoints (bulletpoints motto: ‘hey! we’re the scotts of ….of  word arrangement!‘)( hey!!)  and, maybe, block quoted sections of referential information ( I’d don’t really need to do a ‘block quote motto here, do I? yeah, I know that you know what I was going to do).

There!  I just stumbled upon the theme of the Post and only 106 words in….!

The coming year here at the Wakefield Doctrine….

  • learn more about the nature and, more importantly, the effect of secondary (and tertiary) aspects
  • remember how to be outrageously funny…. yes, you’re correct!  bring back my scottian aspect in writing (at least in some of these Posts)
  • appreciate the level of understanding of this here Doctrine here being enjoyed by the Readers, and write Posts accordingly
  • despite that (the previous point), I will get back to the basic goal of this blog: to present the Wakefield Doctrine in such manner that anyone reading it the for the first time can understand, appreciate and apply the principles of the Wakefield Doctrine and get an immediate benefit, even if it is only to have a little fun, that very same day!
  • apply the principles to my own context

OK… short and to the point, (come on!!  scottian aspect!)

(I’ll return later in the day and add to this post, as one of my projects for this year is to see if I can increase my flexibility in how I go about writing Posts. To date, it’s pretty much been: one sitting, early morning. It would be useful to be able to write at different times of the day and, in more than ‘one take’.)

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

  1. New Years: A Scottian holiday? Kind of like independence day?
And making your writing funny is scottian? This I did not know. For when I get in the mood, I can be quite the little stand up comic. But those moods are rare. Usually I’m kind of crotchety…like on New Year’s morning watching my rogerian FB feed. HAHAHA. ;)
    Happy New Year’s, yo!

you know… I agree. Of ‘the big Three’ Thanksgiving = rogerian Christmas = clarklike* and New Hey!! Years = scottian!!!! (hey!!)

I believe that, while my clarklike predominant worldview is responsible for my droll, dry, witty humor,

(example of type of humor that clarks are fond of i.e. shaggy dog stories, here, courtesy of wikkipedia.org:
“A boy owned a dog that was uncommonly shaggy. Many people remarked upon its considerable shagginess. When the boy learned that there are contests for shaggy dogs, he entered his dog. The dog won first prize for shagginess in both the local and the regional competitions. The boy entered the dog in ever-larger contests, until finally he entered it in the world championship for shaggy dogs. When the judges had inspected all of the competing dogs, they remarked about the boy’s dog: “He’s not that shaggy.” )

my scottian secondary aspect is ‘responsible’ for a lot of the funny, when it’s found in Doctrine Posts… that performance thing you refer to… of course, scottian humor is not necessarily droll
( “A guy comes home from work, walks into his bedroom, and finds a stranger making love to his wife. He says, “What the hell are you two doing?” His wife turns to the stranger and says, “I told you he was stupid.“”)

    Happy New Year, Clark!

Just this morning, I was thinking the same thing of my posts–that I should probably not consistently churn out rough drafts! Of course, I need to get much faster at writing if I plan on implementing that idea.

    Happy New Year!

Same to you and everyone out in the non-cold part of the country. Time is surely the challenge… I am still on the ‘one take’ level of blog writing… it will be intering to see if I can develop my rogerian aspect sufficiently to have an effect on the process of eriting posts for the Doctrine. I tend to associate the carefully planned and researched and written posts with rogers…’cause its certainly a natural feature in the land clarks or scotts…

We did not get snow here (though it was part of the forecast), but we’re also not basking in heat, either. Lows tonight in the teens–which, I know, for some parts of the country might seem bordering on warm, but for here—brr!

So, it’s my secondary clark that is making me post my rough drafts? :-)

    Who doesn’t like Edward H?!:)

I see you are busy here at home, Clark, but you might want to head over to my place, GirlieOnTheEdge. You got some “splainin’ to do Lucy. lol

Happy New Year! And good luck with trying to write at different times of day. I have the opposite problem – zero consistency! I write at very random points when I see an opening and I spend so much time writing drafts and not publishing them that I am left very frustrated by the whole endeavor. Ah, the perfectionist in me…often takes all the fun out of life. :)
I have to admit that i was thrown by the question of humor being scottian. Then I saw your explanation of the dry, witty humor being clark like and it made better sense. I sometimes forget there is any other kind of humor. Personally, I’m only LOL funny after a few glasses of wine.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Same to you Amy!

yes, exactly! the example of humor is a good illustration of a fairly recent development around here, in the form of, ‘the everything Rule’, which is, of course, short for: everyone does everything, at one time or another’. The everything Rule is helpful in remembering that, in Doctrine terms, it’s not so much that things (activities, desires, jobs, recipes or bad TV shows) are scottian or rogerian or clarklike, as much as it is, how are these things experienced in the three worldviews (the preferred term is ‘manifested’, ex. humor is manifested in the scottian worldview such that a pie in the face is experienced as high brow yucks!

      lol
Have you tried the ‘set the timer to 17 minutes, hit publish when the bell rings’ approach? Despite how some Doctrine posts read, I use this approach only occasionally.

      Good to hear from you.
