Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
see the man in the photo* below:
Any questions?
The ‘show, don’t tell’ reference? I spend a lot of time explaining the characteristics of the three worldviews and try to provide pointers on making an identification of a person’s predominant worldview ( is he a clark, does she exhibit the signs of being a scottian woman…. oh man! what a roger!), but then there are moments such as occurred this weekend, when I opened the boating magazine, turned the pages and came upon the above photo. at the risk of ‘telling’ and thereby depriving Readers of the direct experience (of ‘seeing’ a roger), I will simply say, the article that the photo is a part of, was about the boat, not the man.
So I came upon the photo and I stopped. Then I took the magazine into the kitchen and, without a word, held it up (open to this photo) in front of Phyllis and said nothing. She laughed.**
…god! I love this here Doctrine here.

** and… added an insight, Phyllis said, ‘rogers are always looking at the camera in photos’***
*** good point, Lizzi….. ‘scotts are looking at the photographer….’ lol
awesome illustration! frist!
FRIST it is… (no, lets let them see it for themselves…. but serially, is this a Doctrine or is this a Doctrine!)
lol
OHHHHHHHhhhhhhh I getcha.
And a scott would have better sunglasses.
eggzactly…. our boy is totally voguing, he is so cool (the magazine story: the guy driving renovated the boat, so naturally the pictures and very naturally the guy assumes that it’s him we want to look at, not the boat. in. a. boating.magazine
I intially thought the same as Lizzi then I thought ” he thinks we’re looking at him!” and he revealed himself a roger!
totally agree, (with one modification to your statement…) “he assumes we’re looking at him”
If it was a lone scott, he/she would be standing up. Or doing something!
And! More than likely there’d be other people in that there boat:)
..or standing up driving with one hand and yelling at someone (or Something)….
