#4 the Wakefield Doctrine 30 Day Challenge!! (…at least coming up with the Post title is easy enough)

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

What makes this 30 Day Challenge more difficult to write than previous writing binges are two things:

  1. my role and function as the writer
  2. my perception of the audience/readership of this here blog here (that is what I would have said then, now I know enough to add:  “…and my relationship with the Readers”)
  3. the effect (mostly beneficial, though at times I would have to say I miss the old days) of the principles of the Wakefield Doctrine on myself personally

When I started writing the blog I thought: of the people who come here and read about the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers  a certain percentage will enjoy it (probably clarks, at least at first). All I have to do is find a way to explain it so that the average Reader can read about it once and understand it.

blah, blah …blah  yeah, I know!  What the hell’s the point of doing a marathon writing challenge if every Post is going to to be a well-thought-out and all that?  I mean, the chance of spectacular car crashes (they are going 200 mph+!!) is part of what draws the audience to car races. And whether or not this is a niche blog or a personal blog, there is a part in all of us who read (and write) blogs that hopes see something….fiery and exciting and, well… personal, (especially when we read a Post that is a part of a 30-day-whatever.)

If you had asked me, at any point, during the first, say, 2.5 years of this blog, to describe the role and relationship of author to content, I would have said something to the effect of:

“I want people to come away from the Wakefield Doctrine blog enjoying it so much that they would tell other bloggers,  “…yeah it’s a really cool personality thing with three types and it actually works and there’s this guy who seems to know an awful lot about it.”

(…as opposed to now)

“…personality theory blogs?  well there’s this guy, Clark who has this thing, kind of interesting and fun called the Wakefield Doctrine, he really gets into it and it actually seems to work but you … you should should hear him tell it, that’s all he writes in that blog. no, pretty good and sometimes he’s really funny.

(No, one is not better than the other. But there is no doubt in my mind that change has occurred and even though, as a clark, I tend to want to ignore change (both negative and positive change), the Wakefield Doctrine has become such a significant factor in my life that I cannot help but think to myself, ‘well, you’re the one who wanted to the show the world that the Doctrine is not only unique and fun, but is a totally effective tool to self-improve yourself with’.)

…ok zoe, I think I have the thoughtful, maturely reflective shit out of my system, at least for now…. will try to be more  ‘that’s-what-I’m-talkin-about! those fricken  clarks!!!  crazy!!!’  going forward.

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

I must tell you my friend that I am thoroughly enjoying this thirty day challenge thing and it hasn’t even come close to getting as out of hand as it has potential to do!

I tell people frequently about the doctrine (especially in my field) and they all think Im really smart and insightful until I tell them I got it off a blog… then I go all freaking backtrack… like…

“no!no! no! Its not like that… see my friend Clark… well, no maybe thats not a good place to start….” (lol!)

“You gotta hear this guy talk…. he’s like all smart about psych and stuff….”

“Why you looking at me like that?”

    “WHAT!?”
Mumbling under my breath *** effing roger***

hey that reminds me of a vid that I came across just the other day! it was a re-enactment of the moment that I decided on the new name for the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers… and to write this here blog here.

…will post it here as soon as I can find it!

      …oh yeah! FRIST!

I want a video of you telling a joke. Not just a one-liner. A real storyfied joke.

  4. I wanted to write something worth reading and maybe even smart, but listening to the little lad fartin next to me and probably pooping his diaper, I don’t think I’m able to :-)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

( I know that scotts around the world are jumping up waving their hands frantically…. ‘me!! call on me!!! )
…on behalf of the scotts (and the rogers and the clarks) allow me to say, “well! you’ve certainly come to the right blog!”

      lol

I suspect I know the answer, but I want to see – if a clark were given a For Real chance to be someone else, would they take it?

How many favourite scotts do we get? That’s not for video (or maybe it is) – I just want to know.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

Good question… (though the answer will not surprise/then surprise us) lets see what the night shift Readers have to say!

      • christine says:

I’m pretty sure a scott wouldn’t even ask a question like that. We’d just name our favorite scotts and count them. There’s your number! :)

    A) quickest way to identify the clarks in a crowd? ask everyone: ‘first person to raise their hands will get a chance to be someone else’
    2) clark’s scotts?
