TToT 198 the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

1)

2)…..

3) ….all three are located here, in the recent past…. step through here

4) speaking of recent Past. I am grateful for the experience of not running over a cat today! So, I was driving along a fairly wide, non-interstate-highway type road and paying attention, (as I usually do), and I saw a cat running across a lawn on my right (and about 2 house up the road) heading across the road. The thing of it was, it was running, not sprinting and although it looked in my direction as it left the lawn (of the house on the right) and hit the pavement, I could see the cat logic, in it’s brain was surely insisting  that it needed to continue on it’s path. I applied significant breakage and slowed down. The cat did not, he kept on running (as Mr. Anderson would have said) but, having the situation under control I was able to visualize the path of the cat and there is no doubt that our paths would have crossed, much to the detriment of said, unidentified feline,  had I not seen it and slowed down.

5) to further enhance my experience, once I was certain that I was not going to run over the cat, I enjoyed the realization that I had not. I actually thought, ‘hey! no matter what else I do today, it has been a successful day’. I then laughed at how very strange the interior life of clarks experience and, how, in the privacy of our own minds, there is much good. It’s too bad that there is so very little hope of translating those kinds of moments into anything that has an exchange value for use in our interactions (socially) with the rogers and the scotts.

6) I am grateful that I know Kristi Campbell. I cite this because she wrote a Post that I read today (which, given how little time I seem to have these days, is saying something in and of itself)… the Post was a part of her Finish the Sentence Friday ‘hop, and it was titled:  ‘8 ways to cost self compassion. or, how not to be, or raise, an asshole’

7) Una and our Friday Night Car Rides  and the fact that I did not try and upload the two videos I made last evening.  Both  of them were not very good and, even though sometimes that does not stop me, this time I thought, ‘clark, just because this is live, and it was good for the first 2.3 minutes… sometimes it’s best to forego the act of Posting’ I’m glad that I did.  …forgo the Posting, that is.

8) the Wakefield Doctrine Saturday Night Call-in… which we do every Saturday night at 8 pm (the number is on the front page  somewhere)… and last week we had a surprise Caller in the form of Jean!  A very significant part of the fun is when we get these unanticipated  people dropping in… she was, you won’t be surprised to hear, delightful and it was an enjoyable Call-ins conversation.

9) Cyndi… now, she is doing well and we are very proud of her, so why dontcha  go to Pictimilitude and see for yourself!

10)  SR 1.3*

* Secret Rule (from the Book of Secret Rules (aka the secret Book of Rules) that states: ‘the completion of a list of 10 items, can, in fact, be one of those items. Traditionally it is saved for number 10, but there ain’t no Secret Rule what says you have to use it as number 10.  ya know?’

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

    First…..FRIST!

“…how very strange, the interior life of clarks experience and, how, in the privacy of our own minds, there is much good. This, your #5, is not only valuable for the “baby” clarks out there, but valuable for all you scotts and rogers. A little “clarks 101” for everyone.
    Thanks for posting that bit.

Yes! Congrats to Cyndi! Excellent news all around! Now. Got to run and head over to Kristi’s “house”. Been neglecting everyone lately so I want to play catch up this weekend beginning with her!

  2. Sarah says:

I thank you for putting me in touch with cyndi! Turns out we have many friends in common. Kristi’s post was excellent, wasn’t it?

  3. lrconsiderer says:

Cyndi’s doing BIG things. I’m proud of her. Kristi, too :) Good for them :)

I’m happy you didn’t run over the cat, and that it made your day a success. I was just baking when my mother-in-law phoned, and Husby told her, so today is now a success. HUZZAH! Love it.

  4. valj2750 says:

Yeah, maybe there should be pulling in garage cameras as well as back up cameras in new cars. I think you might be on to something.

  5. zoebyrd says:

nice take on sr1.3 I never thought about using at as number 4eg…

You know that inner world of the Clark thing… my take on stuff like that is exactly like yours and it really effs up my roger and scottian clients/friends when I say something like that… I am known to say “If thats the worst thing that happens to me today its been a great day… but figuring that out just made it a success….”

Have fun at the call in… dunno if my sister is up for such things… roger and all…

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

(I think) that 1.3 is the first Secret Rule that came into use… Luckily there are any number of others, for those special occasions
      .

  6. dyannedillon says:

I am thankful you didn’t run over the kitty cat, too. Something you should know about cats, since you don’t know nuthin’ ’bout cats, is that when they have an agenda, there is no stopping them. And that cat had an agenda.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

funny you should say that… (this is one of those fairly rare events where the level of detail to the impressions I took of it is very high), for example, I recall noting that (as the cat ran across the street) he/she knew I was there… I totally saw the cat give me a sidelong glance, and I knew that he/she was not going to bother changing the path it was on…

  7. Kristi says:

Glad you didn’t hit the cat!

Is the call-in on Saturday nights now?

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

Actually no. The vidchat is still 7:30 EDST Fridays… the ‘other’ chat is the Saturday Night Drive, which is a phone call-in (one of those conference services that lets multiple people talk at the same time) and this (Saturday) call is pretty much Doctrine stuff, as opposed to the more social vidchat on Fridays…

  8. Kristi Campbell - findingninee says:

I was waiting for the ring ring of the vidchat Friday night but may have missed it when I was putting TuckerMan to bed. And dude. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to know YOU and to have this amazing community that I can better understand due to the Doc here. And what’s Cyndi up to? Must go look now!!! Also you do know how much I totally adore right? I mean whatever. You’re pretty cool.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Kristi

we kinda went tired-old-person yesterday evening… was there at 7:30 and had a nice talk with zoe and Denise but fell down on the ground at around 9. (Thats ’cause Lizzi wasn’t there… she the life of the party and such lol) Next Friday Night fer sure…. I will so rest up for it.

      • dyannedillon says:

4th of July picnic on the vid chat!.

      • zoebyrd says:

hey speak for yourself old man… no just kiddin’! Kristi, he is right… we went serious chat old fart-gotta-get-up-in-the-morning old school this week. Heard from Lizzi later but she was too pooped and busy… I dont get how she does that all night long thing with the time difference!

  9. Ah, forwarding items to the list – great choice. As is the SR 1.3. I’m quite glad you and the cat did not actually collide – they certainly can be persistent in their mission, whatever it is.

  10. Sandy Ramsey says:

I like the way you think…I would have had the same thought after not hitting the cat. So, I guess in that situation, everybody won. I love Kristi too and have that post saved in my Pocket. I haven’t read it yet but I have no doubt it will be great. She has a way, does she not? I have to go have a look at Cyndi’s place now…what’s up? I always miss stuff….

  11. Joy Christi says:

I’ll bet that cat doesn’t even realize how lucky it is. Hopefully he (just a guess) will not squander the gift of life that you have bestowed upon him. If he was suicidal, hopefully this Second Chance will snap him right out of it, he’ll visit his many litters of children and teach them to CARPE the DIEMs!

  12. Aww, shucks. Thanks for the shout-out. :P
Wanted to call in last evening, but I was over at the mom-in-law’s. It’s was her 85th birthday – pretty impressive, eh?
I’m thankful for you and this blog – which I reference on a daily – I’m not even kidding – basis. Everyone I meet, I try to figure out which worldview they have and then try to relate to them. Or understand their reaction to something.
You rock, Señor Clark, hasta lo máximo. :)

  13. clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

    mucho thankito! Cyndarita!

this Doctrine is very fun and, I will say without fear of contradiction, every time I ‘use it’* I see something new, a get an insight that I didn’t have before…very cool
you are a power of example (sounds kinda valedictorian to say) but it’s true…watching your efforts and the work you put in, while knowing that you are a clark… I benefit from witnessing your success. tres cool, yo
