TToT A2Z FTSF the Wakefield Doctrine (of letters and names and incomplete lists)

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

trailer_home

A lot of different categories for a fairly varied list of Ten Things that Thankfulness is the primary emotional content.

1) I have to cite the Book of Secret Rules (aka the Secret Book of Rules) to begin this week’s list, not because of what it might allow, but simply because it is an understanding those of us participating here share. And as ‘an understanding’ it allows us to be more individualistic while still maintaining the group identity of this ‘hop…. ya know?

2) (Not exactly Spring, but) the end of Winter, finally

3) (contextual item) seeing the ground and having one day without (having to wear) what could only be called a winter coat

4) vidchats (more to follow)

5) (possibly) beginning to get back in the rhythm of Post writing, long story, will try to fill in the blanks in the second of half of this list.

6) health (no matter how not like a large sum of money I may feel) I still make a point of listening when someone talks about a health/medical problem of another person… I need to make the conscious effort to understand that everything is not forever

7) the Wakefield Doctrine

8)

9)

10)Secret Rule 1.3  (ask zoe  but don’t let her tell you that she will send the explanation on a paper plane)

(While I am inclined to use ‘work’ as a grat item, I will instead apply Rule 8.7 of the SBoR and leave the list incomplete for the moment, so that I can attend to work, with the understanding and acceptance of the oral contract to provide a complete list by the end of the day, even if the completion of the List entails the use of a video Post, use of such a video is not limited to credit as a single item, all rights reserved… if you know what I mean… (and if you do, then I reserve the right to use that ‘fact’ as one of the remaining items on today’s 10 Things List).

Today’s ‘GO!  A2Z-pariticapatory-writers-who-are-also-Friends-of-the-Doctrine!!!

Lizzi:    E (is) Editorial  (I may have an opinion on that, but it can wait)

zoe:  (same A2Z)  our friend is offering….. E for Paper Airplanes!  (??!!? er… you want to go and double check that?   )  E for…. LEarning…   Here is zoe’s Post! (lol)

Jean:  (in her series of fictionary words:  E  eXBoxers  (the person, we assume, not the undergarments)

Dyanne:   our time-zone challenged friend is still in the process of posting (something about early am volley ball…  GO!!! Fighting Volley Ball Hurlers!)

all set?

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

    frist!

  2. First?!

  3. Never mind, I thought I was, lol! But still I love that it is spring and yes we can so see the ground again. And today I don’t even have to wear a coat here either. Truly great weekend indeed and hope you get to enjoy it now, too with all the warmth that come with it!! :)

  4. zoe says:

I guess Im guilty of suspecting I have an intelligent reading community as E is for ELEVATION!
It’s been corrected… thanks for the help! lol

  5. lrconsiderer says:

At the moment, E is for Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee by gum I need a nap!

  6. Kristi says:

Sometimes it’s hard to remember that difficulties are not permanent. I think that even many chronic health issues have an ebb and flow in their symptoms. And of course, I have faith that life continues health-problem-free beyond the grave.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Kristi

Agreed, but I take some positive from hearing about others issues, odd as it may seem, (or the way I am writing it), but it’s all under the heading of , ‘there but the grace…’
to see another have illness does not diminished my empathy/sympathy but it totally elevates my resolve not to take a day for granted.

  7. Why incomplete list? I thought this was what the SBoR is all about.. And I think everyone could make a complete list of thankfuls just with the cue “health”. Have a great not-so-wintery weekend!!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Stephanie

(now) a complete list! lol I agree with the health thing, that is definitely bonus items (on a grat list)…plus our SBoR which allows the proper leeway.

  8. zoe says:

Classic vid….my fav lines? “What the fuck is that? Rogers.”

  9. Shedding the winter-wear! That joy is huge with me this year, and I am a winter-person at heart. Still, enough is enough!

  10. lrconsiderer says:

    “Missouri”

    I still don’t get it.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

It’s how it looks (to me) in ‘print’… Dyanne?? oh yeah, she says she lives in “Missouri”…

      • lrconsiderer says:

That works in certain contexts (usually with an inherent subcontext in accompaniment) – such as when I say I’m from “Idaho”…

        • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

I don’t think this makes any sense*, as a response, but I never get tired of this scene (from ‘This is Spinal Tap’)

*wait…wait a minute… I don’t think that is doesn’t make any sense…. hey I may be dialing up a driving random vid chat today…. so stay tuned!

        • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

but, serially, I liked the ‘joke’ originally because it seemed to convey (in the graphic ‘quote marks’) sense of imaginary places… e.g. Dyanne insists that the place she lives? she says that it is known the world around as “Misouri”….

          • lrconsiderer says:

            Okay…I think I get it.

Not around this avo though, sadly.

            • jny_jeanpretty says:

You see Michigan begins wth Mi, and when you mail a letter to Michigan, you mail it to MI. Missouri begins with Mi. but when you mail a letter to Missouri, you mail it to MO. I know this stuff because someone in my family made me go to secretarial school after I graduated from college, to something called the Katie Gibbs “Blitz” course. It was 1973. It was so boring! Yet I know every single rule of spacing and writing a correct business letter I could do it in my sleep. Which is what women did to get work right then. Become a secretary. In my family, at least.
I got work as a temp for Rolls Royce and places like that. I really sucked but it was entertaining to do all the weird things they needed done, like signing their Christmas cards and stuff, Most of the time when the temp agency called I would say I couldn’t come in, though. I couldn’t stand it. I sat around and watched the Phil Donahue show instead.
clark, that was some of the worst driving I have seen yet! Wow! And isn’t Narragansett on a bay ? I need to check that. But still, great fun to watch and I almost burned my kid’s toast I was watching so closely!!! :)

              xox jeh

              • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

                Jean

There is a Narragansett Bay, contiguous with the water that you see in the photo, but that is open ocean (when we are driving along the wall), when I pan left (after the traffic light) that land that you probably can’t see (I think I make mention of Jamestown and Newport) they are more properly considered in Narragansett Bay. Too bad I can’t stand up in the sunroof and steer with my feet! (hey, I suppose if I set the cruise control (and make sure I have not reason to stop, I could do something like that…lol)

the Michigan joke is apparently mostly in my head… ha ha (as Cyndi would say)… but I like the inference of the quotes (you sometimes see that joke with a person using their fingers for “quotes”

  11. christine says:

I am so happy for you to be able to have a day without the winter coat. It’s about damn time. We got back from our trip, and the grass was green. Even the kids noticed it. Friend, spring weather is coming!
I’m glad you are getting your post writing mojo back.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Christine

I love (only happened to me once or twice) where you go away for a (relatively) short time and come home to see fairly large-scale changes… in seasons

  12. Sandy Ramsey says:

Well, it’s about time that you see the ground and closet the winter coat! Hope that keeps coming. I rather liked Zoe’s paper airplane…I have to share her tutorial with my son. The kid is a genius but can’t figure out how to make one :)

  13. findingninee says:

I wish I lived closer to the ocean. But I don’t get the Missouri thing either. Is that what the ye-haw was for at the end? We had an amazing day here yesterday (one that even meant a small local zoo) and today? Freezing and raining. Again. Sigh. I can see your explanation to Lizzi above and still while I maybe get it? Not really funny?? Oh but the “what the fuck was that! Rogers.” – what did you see????

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Kristi

(hard to see) but off to the left was someone with a bicyclist with sort of seat for a kind in front of the rider and a trailer-like attachment on back for yet another kid… and the adult had a helmet on…. so clearly we were dealing with a roger lol

  14. Joy Christi says:

Buh-bye winter coats! For a few months anyway. I mentioned Friday night, as much as I appreciate my very WARM winter coat, it’s 20 pounds and feels like I’m giving a piggy-back ride to an actual COW. I will endure the cold until November or December, when I dig it out of the basement closet again, because I feel so FREE and light without it!
I know you can’t TEXT and drive, but is it really legal to v-log and drive? I’m not going to look it up, so I can claim ignorance and not be contributing to this madness.
My favorite part of the video, other than Missouri not being a real state (!) is as others have pointed out:
“…the fuck is that? Rogers” hahaha too funny!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Joy

Totally agree about the superiority of the non-Winter months! As to the legality of video… not that I disagree, but given that I have only one hand on the camera, that leaves one hand and two legs for additional car control!
