Doctrine Practicum Day! the Wakefield Doctrine ‘you know, it doesn’t have to be all abstracty and like, subjective… a real Doctrine in a real world!’

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Today we set aside the untidy and messy and difficult/unpleasant and wonderful experiments intended to develop my own damn personality, through the use of  the Wakefield Doctrine and take a little break. Lets talk about something easy, how to tell the personality type of two people with only an exterior photo of some office space as a clue.  …like I said, something fun and easy today.

In the photo above you see an office space, viewed from the front looking towards the back. See the desks? these belong to individual agents, each have a phone and a chair. In the far back you see two small offices side-by-each*.  Imagine this room before those two back offices were built, one large, rectangular room with maybe 8 desks in it. With me so far? Great!  So the problem to solve today: what was the predominant worldview of the agent(s) that ‘built’ these two office-ettes?

Since I’m currently out of docTees, I will not make this a Contest. I will give one hint: one was a scott and one was a roger. …ok, I’ll give you another hint: this is a real estate office. (This is pertinent, as the space shown in the photo is both public and private space in terms of the daily function and routine. People come and go, work at their desks, confer with each other).  Go ahead, you can do this!  (remember: knowing the characteristics of all three worldviews, put yourself in the head of a scottian real estate agent and a rogerian real estate agent… what does the world look like to them?  like we say, ‘infer their worldview‘.  Even better… remember our ‘everyone does everything at one time or another’ Rule?  the one that says, there is no hobby, interest, profession, like or dislike that is exclusively of one worldview?  apply that to the real estate business, ask yourself the question:  ‘how would the real estate business manifest itself to a person living in the world of the Outsider? …if a Predator decides to go into the real estate business (mostly the scottian women, not so much the scottian men) how would they perceive their environment and were a roger to decide they needed to make a living in this business what would they do?’

I’ll provide the answer in a…  hey, you know what might be fun?  Knowing much clarks hate to not be correct and might be tempted to scroll right to the bottom of the page, lets do something different with the answer (no! something different?!?! in a Wakefield Doctrine post??!!  no frickin way!!!)   the answer to which of the three worldviews ‘designed’ the office on the right will be found in a Comment in the current post in zoe’s blog: re-written  and the answer to which personality type is reflected in the design of the office on the left will be somewhere near the top of the Comments in Lizzi’s most current post in Considerings.

Times up!

Hey! speaking of interesting people… we had Melanie stop by yesterday… a long time fan of this here Doctrine here, and writer of a most excellent blog, she told us that she took ‘the Wakefield Doctrine Quick-Fun-Exciting-and-we’ll-know-if-you’re-a-roger-by-the-distribution-of-your-Answers! Test’… it’s right here  go try and come back and tell about your score. (Melanie, she a clark)

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

No answers I could find anywhere, but you have your scott on the left as you face the pic, and the roger would be on the right, which is the way I see it anyway
    jnrrreeeeeeeeeeee

  2. jny_jeanpretty says:

that your office? nice blue! good lighting!

  3. Always have an escape plan….

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

(we know that there are common characteristics and such among the three types), clarks and scotts have that in common: always have ‘an option’… rogers, not as much…

  4. Aha! I looked at it and thought, Roger. The colors are plain and well-coordinated, very rogerian!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

yes…and well furnished rogers have the natural sense of how to make a place comfortable

    Checking out the L….

  6. zoe says:

Must be the other one…..sorry to use ya as a testing ground!

I read your comment earlier and I don’t remember it, so I’m doing this properly, and with justification.

The roger has the office on the right (looking at the photo) because he has the window (can see all his productive underlings, more importantly, they can see him) and has his desk full of the Very Important Trappings of the job.

The scott has the office on the left. It’s small. It’s sparse. It has nothing to prove as a *space* because the scott proves himself, and doesn’t care to enter into the petty ‘my office is bigger than yours’ which the roger needs to feel confident. The scott, to see realty, needs a phone, a computer, and himself*. He doesn’t care what the rest of the gang are doing as long as he’s a top seller. Or knows where he is in relation to the top seller.

*He may or may not, on occasion, stop by the desk of that clark in the corner to shoot the breeze, snark about the rogers and find an appreciative audience for his latest dirty joke or raucous tale.

      Very well done.

I suspect I need to write a Post and reflect on how it is (apparently) easy for the teacher to underestimate the level of understanding by the students…lol I truly thought that this little exercise would have proved more difficult to you guys. Your answer/analysis demonstrates that you, and the others with their responses, (including Dyanne in (her) delightfully concise and scottian Comment) telling us which of the offices is the scotts and which the rogers) are quite fluent in this here Doctrine here.

      cool

      • Lizzi says:

Ay, and THAT should allay the clarkstyle concern over efficacy and use for a time :D

        • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

          lol yeah as if

(but I will have to work harder at the level of self-doubt I express about this thing, seeing how you people is catching up with me and all)

          • jny_jeanpretty says:

Yeah! so, WHAT sort of person was Rudyard Kipling,
“If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you…” and etc.

Readers? (I know you all know this one…)

Hint 1: emphasis on control…and intellect, rejecting those who would try to blame others for misfortune… rejecting action for the sake of looking like something is happening

Hint 2: of the three personality types, one is clearly the person I would want to have on the scene of a sudden, un-expected emergency and it is not the one that most people look to (or would guess!) this not-really-the-person-to-have-on-hand-for-an-emergency is perceived as the natural leader (of the three worldviews), but luck is so much a part of their success…I would rather take my chances with the less-likely-to-be-picked

              Hint 3: a clark

lol, sorry gave it away.. but the above 2 hints is the ‘why’ of the answer
