TToH&RO #1!* the Wakefield Doctrine (yes, he’s at it again!)

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

ChildrenOfTheSun-14

Today is Sunday, Day 2 of the TToT. One of the coolest things about this blog (for me) is that it does not stop until late Sunday night. Come on! you remember! that one party that you were at once  (and tried and tried to re-create for the rest of your life) that was and incredibly good Saturday Night Party  and  how it almost stopped at, like 2:30 am (when you either give up on getting lucky or you get lucky), but it didn’t stop! …and you found yourself talking to interesting people and they were interested in what you were contributing and it seemed like you never repeated yourself and then it started to get light out and you found that other people wanted to get breakfast too and even after breakfast someone came up with an idea and the day took on a new energy and you went through the day as a continuation of Saturday Night  just different in a better-yet-equal sort of way and then you ended up home on Sunday Night, exhausted but happy, nothing broken (literally or figuratively) with no regrets (about what you did or even about having to go to work the next morning)…the TToT is like that! Just a teensy bit different.

…speaking of different.  lol  So, I was thinking this morning, ‘but, …but! I came up with a list on the basis of the whole preceding week! do they have any idea how much work that is? they’re (mostly) women  they have talent for sensing emotion and putting it in words!  not fair!’  So, being the clark that I am, today I will present my TToH&RO List.  I started out with ‘Hope’  but that was too… wishy, un-grounded or something, so I added the ‘RO’ which stands for Reasonable Optimistic. Not quite Goal Setting, and not dreamy Hopes… just what I plan to try to find in the world in the coming week.

In the coming Week I will be open to:

1) looking forward to work, as an opportunity to improve my understanding of those I interact with,

2) exploring my desire to understand those I interact with, it can simply be a way to deal with others that it will require me to better understand myself

3) enjoy the weather, which is expected to remain moderate, so I will be optimistic about how ‘bad’ a Winter we will be subject to in this part of the planet

4) work on a project with Cyndi, well it’s actually I’m working on an idea of a project with Cyndi… to figure out how we can manage a live video Post with the 2 of us somehow in it (involves the use of technology, but in a good way…lol)

5) looking forward to TMT Tuesday ( Jen and Kristi ) and will make every effort to find out the prompt before Tuesday morning!

6) am reasonably optimystic that I will continue with my new exercise regime that I started last week…(speaking of optimistic outlook, the good thing about not exercising is that when you do get back to it your ‘threshold of exhaustion’ is so much nearer to your rest state! so I can get a great workout feeling in half the time!)

7) still dealing with the state of flux that I am in about my blogging. …fortunately this is a never ending cycle for me: i.e. I say, “what the hell, I’m gonna have fun” then it becomes “oh man, I better be careful not to alienate the Readers I have” which leads to, “jeez I gots nothing to write” and finally (so far)  “the hell with being successful, I gonna have me some fun!”

8) the Video Brunch this morning…every Sunday with Michelle and them, has been fun and interesting  …can’t wait

9) continue the Wakefield Doctrine ‘hey!-this-is-an-Effective-Tool-see-watch-the-effect-it-has-when-applied-to-a-live-Subject’

10) that Lizzi and Christine the other Hostini will sense the true spirit of my efforts here (of course, Dyanne, she a total wildcard… damn, just have to take my chances!)

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

Comments

  1. Efforts sensed, And understood. Good effort.

    Who is the ‘mostly’?

  2. zoe says:

I am incredibly out of the loop this weekend. My human kid came home with his wife and I have had no time to myself… They should be back in about 20 min so I decided to squeeze in a few comments… I like the idea of optimism and goals for the week… I have to ask about #7… is that really a prob or just a clarkism talking? I ask because I totally get this… but I always have to do a reality check… I mean short of something really off there is nothing that will alienate folks who read you faithfully … right??? Dunno. Ooooh THAT was a stream of consciousness… anyhoo… like the list … appreciate the effort… missed “talking” to you guys more this weekend even in the capacity I DO manage to get in! Z~

let us know your time availability during weekdays… as soon as Cyndi is feeling better, I suspect we might be doing an ‘Afterschool Special’ (a phone in like Saturday but at 3:30 or 4ish on a weekday..) you’d enjoy it.

  3. Love it. Focussing on others to better understand ourselves. I’m in!

I commend you for excercising. I’m still out due to my lungs, but can’t wait to get back into a routine. Hoping you have nice, moderate weather the next week!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Hey thanks Stephanie

a little at a time over time is my new motto*

      * as opposed to the old motto: ‘if it’s worth doing, it’s worth over-doing’

Deja Vu! I’d swear I was just here earlier as I weed my way through every TToT post this week. Only three more to go and I’m done. And, then, I get back here. A double posting!!!! No, not the same material by any means, but a double posting! I think I need a nap. Hey, received your invite today, but didn’t arise until around 2 this afternoon. I also have to admit I don’t have a camera of any type for computer sessions. And, about your blogging. Damn it! If it’s not fun, why do it? I mean, if you were making a substantial income by sticking closely to a script that’s one thing. However, if it’s more for fun, as it is with me, then let it be fun! Otherwise, you’ll hate yourself in the morning! Much like you do when you exercise! (Ooops, shouldn’t have said that!)

      Rich

I am the first to tell anyone that this here bloghop is the best of the bunch… but the work! (Don’t tell Lizzi or Christine or Dyanne…but man! I am up later doing what I enjoy than I ever was back in school..even on Exam eve lol)

as to the Brunch…if your phone has a hefty signal and a camera that will link you in, zoe has joined using one as has Michelle and yours truly, but I totally agree, the fun (and satisfaction) here is without equal…way better than TV… see ya on the circuit this week!

  5. Two relatively normal lists from you in the same weekend, Clark! Knock me over with a feather!

I like being considered a loose cannon. Keeps you on your toes.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Dyanne

      who said that??!

(lol… I know you chuckled at that, because this Doctrine is so good!)

btw I do appreciate your … input (nah…) your suggestions (? close…not quite)… you Hey! hah! gotcha!! (lol that!)

  6. christine says:

Hope and Reasonable Optimism, eh? It’s smart of you to not go all crazy and whole-hog optimistic. That would be unsafe. :)
I tell my kids all the time (as they love advice from me) that going into a situation with a good attitude makes all the difference in the world. Good for you, taking on the good attitude, especially about your work and coworkers. And the weather.
I appreciate all the effort you put into getting these lists done and also going around visiting everyone. If it blogging isn’t fun, I see no reason to do it. (You’re having fun, right? ‘Cause I want you to keep writing.)
I’m off to type my name and damned email address again…

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Christine

how could I not enjoy this process (allowing for the all too clarklike tendency of getting overly serious about the fun stuff), and having your input into the mix on these weekends, very excellent. (a flashback to the classic, ‘why he/she is still only 5, an imaginary friend is normal let her be’… lol I go through my work day and will, on occasion think about something you or one of the others have said and then catch myself and laugh… ‘shhh don’t laugh, Mr Farley has these imaginary friends…’*)

*another reason I look forward to the time you can join us in a Vid Brunch, as we were discussing the different efforts that we make to keep ‘this world’ separate from the work world…not that all three (clarks, scotts and rogers) view it the same, but there is a common perception of this blogosphere being very much distinctive from the everyday work world.

  7. Kristi says:

I find your take on TToH&RH completely reasonable. I don’t know why TToT can’t incorporate future events (unless there is some rule about double-negatives.)

I constantly struggle with #7 also.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Kristi

thank you for that support (Item #7) and I can’t think of not a single reason we can’t allow ourselves to use (or not use) double negatives! lol
