‘Il viaggio di scoperta e comprensione’ …the Wakefield Doctrine (hey! lookit that! they got, like, subtitles in their titles! I gots to read that Post!)

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

With more and more new Readers are joining us on our little adventure of discovery (of the uses and fun of the Wakefield Doctrine), I thought it might be best that I indicate that we (DownSprings and Friends of the Doctrine) know how confusing it can be at first… you learn the characteristics of the three worldviews…nothing seems to happen and then, one day totally out of left field, everything falls into place.

(Of there are any opera buffs out there who want to help us set this scene in the overall context of the story…let us know!  I so see a clark and a scott and a roger in this scene)

come back later today…we’ll talk a little

(I’m back…)

the Wakefield Doctrine is not: easy to learn/APA-approved/subject to hideously rigorous empirical analysis/something you use to get your boyfriend in line/something you use to make your children behave/something you use to get your wife to… (hold that thought)/full of carefully structured categories/useful to get people to fit a certain definition/only useful to ‘professionals’/an ‘Answer’

the Wakefield Doctrine is: a tool/fun/useful/easy to learn/something to do to yourself to get your girlfriend in line/helpful in understanding your children/something that will keep you from being surprised the next time your husband…/a wonderful tool for self-improvement/a way to understand why people behave the way that they do/ one more (…did we already say ‘fun’?) perspective on life

Here’s the deal: if you can hold in your mind that we all live, to a certain degree, in a personal reality and you can (hold in your mind) that there are three worldviews (personal realities) that everyone can experience then you can use the Doctrine. The thing about the Wakefield Doctrine that you should know (actually 2 things …for now, a bunch of things later, if you decide you like it):  the goal is to ‘see the world as the other person experiences it’  and ‘the Wakefield Doctrine is for you, not for them’.

…so go read these pages, take the Assessment if you want, definitely ask questions. We will guarantee that, with the proper use of the Wakefield Doctrine, you will know more about ‘the other person’ than you have any right to know!

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

  1. Crap, I totally had a WD question I wanted to ask. Now I’ve forgotten. I’ll pop back later and see if I remember. Was talking about it with someone. Kristi? Christine? Nope…it’s gone.

  2. If only I could instantaneously group people into the three personalities, then I’d know instantly whether to ignore them, let them think they’re in charge or pose a philosophical question. HAHAH

  3. I love that it says I’m visiting your site from Houston even though I’m in Fort Worth. I’ve tricked your website. BWAHAHAHAHAHAH!
    Yours truly,
    Clarkette Rogeina

yes you have…and do you really think that blouse goes all that well with those slacks?

      • I have on a black and green mini. And black boots. Pretty hot if I do say so myself. And I do. ;)

        • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

lol … of course, this being the Doctrine we can tell the style of boots! The Doctrine will say that clarklike females will have comfortable boots (and/or other footwear) while scottian females will have totally shiny…pointy… (does this whip go with this skirt?) boots. rogerian females… they are not as ‘foot conscious’ as the other two…be safest to say, if boots are in (at the moment) they will be wearing them…if not, no

of course, neither one is better than the other…and we all have some degree of the three worldviews…but! the Doctrine starts with person’s predominant worldview (their personal reality) and goes from there… so it is kinda out of anyone’s hands lol the boots you have on are one or the other.

          • Ah, now you KNOW that’s not always true when your clarkette has a strong, scottian secondary lying just below the surface, and a genuine, for realsies bullwhip at home – her shoes will be FABULOUS!

            • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

lol you know I was thinking about that* especially the, “a black and green mini” (and since I’n fairly certain that she is not talking about the small car)… however! I would submit that a clarklike female could wear a mini skirt (and leg warmers, boots, 3 belts (one studded)…a scarf or two and a herringbone sports coat).

              so, I totally agree!

              *not ‘thinking’ thinking…just thinking thinking

  4. These boots are totally Rogeina’s – but Clark in that I own one black pair and one brown pair and that’s it. And I wear them all fall/winter long until they fall apart and I have to buy new ones. And I’m always barefoot at home. I am never trendy, but always must look “cute”. That’s my thing. At the end of the day I guess my the boots I have on were made for walking. :D

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

now we’re making progress! if they appear to you to be fitting the description of a clark’s boots, then that’s a clue (to your predominant worldview)… consider the ways that a clark experiences the world around them… if the focus gets sharper, you’re on the right track…less focus then you will need to try on the rogerian or scottian lens.

only one predominant worldview per customer! (there are secondary and tertiary aspects that account for shading and some aspects of the other two) but it is the nature of the world you wake up to that the Doctrine starts with…

good luck! let us know if you have any questions and such
