Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

We are satisfied to report that we are engaging in the Tenth Week of the Ten Things of Thankful (TToT) bloghop.

While I can honestly say that, for the occasion of the 10th of the 10, I would love to write a simple and direct (and ‘normal’) List of Ten Things of Thankful, I cannot. I say ‘cannot’ with an odd mix of pride and regret. I am proud of myself for having the, whatever the quality of willingness to own up to a lack of ability/skill is called, and at the same time, wish it were not so.

Alright. Enough of the apologizing for my lack of skill and ability to express myself in writing.

  1. I am grateful for the privilege of calling myself a co-host to this here bloghop here
  2. I am primarily grateful to Considerer for having the inspiration, or the drive or the genius or the luck to create this fairly unique form of a common blog type
  3. I am secondarily grateful to Christine for being the person she is and the good friend of Lizzi. I’ve told the story before, how, after my showing up at Considerings (out of ‘nowhere’, quite un-invited) and began to write Comments, Christine showed up at the Wakefield Doctrine to introduce herself and….get to know who these Doctrine people were… lol. I liked from the first Comment.
  4. I am grateful that there is a reasonable chance that I am allowed this much ‘skating’ on the List format. I would love to write a list of things that made me happy this week past, except I don’t seem to be able to remember anything
  5. I am grateful for Lizzi’s support and encouragement for messin with the format of the TToT
  6. I am grateful for my own comfort with the idea that it’s ok not to write a good list, or a proper list or even, a coherent list  here on Saturday at the TToT
  7. I’m grateful for everyone who participates, from the solid well written Posts (pretty much everyone but this one…and maybe Jak1…and  Kristi2  and Considerer3  )
  8. I am grateful for Phyllis and Una
  9.  I should be grateful for the real life circumstances I am in, which I am, but I suspect I am…complicating things in a way that makes feeling simple gratitude… more challenging than it need be (lol  ya think?)
  10. cha ching!  made it to Number 10 of Number 10 of the 10 T’s of T (fulness)!

Today being Saturday, I’ll be off to the work world. Will check back in throughout the course of the day.

Tips for new Participants and/or Readers:  Freedom Hall here. We are grateful for your Posts and for your Comments. One of the (many) things that is different about this bloghop is that we are open all weekend. We are active all weekend. What you are reading right now?  check back later in the day (tonight…tomorrow!)  Some will Post a second time on Sunday but all of us will leave comments throughout the weekend.  and….and!   Jump right in!  if you see someone saying something in a comment thread and, if you’re like me,  you get all “what?!?!  she did not just say that!!”  go ahead   jump right into the Comment thread!  Thats why God invented nested Replies.

I will leave a music video that has been playing in my head since I got up… old, old band  mostly dead people by now, I would think.

See you later in the weekend.

Ten Things of Thankful
 Your hosts

1)  lol  I kid Jak… boy got skills, and not afraid express himself on whatever level he chooses to, something that I admire

2)  Kristi is who I want to grow up (as a writer) to be..

3) good Friend,  DownSpring of no small potential… she combines skill with inventiveness, what more could you want?

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

Comments

  1. Love this hop. Sadly cannot participate. Too hung-over.

      @aPleasant

      well… we’ll be around all weekend. Stop in later in the day, when you become (cautiously) optimistic about your survivial! Sounds like you have the items already, just need to write ’em down!

      (Hope my music helps)

  2. Cyndi says:

    Yippee! Finished a post AND came here to link. Sounds like you’re grateful for Considerer. I am, too. haha.
    Happy Saturday!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Cyndi

      …lets see how grateful our hostess is later in the weekend, after we’ve run up and down the (metaphorical) streets of this (metaphorical) small town here…lol not that we would damage anything, and….and! as long as Kristi doesn’t show up with Rich and them… we might stay out of blogger jail!

  3. Considerer says:

    Ow! I tried that music, I really did, and usually you’re golden, but not this time! Back to Fun’s We Are Young (I know – I did NOT just say that – except I did)

    An excellent go at a traditional list, but absolutely g’wan ahead and take it any which way you like – that’s all part of the fun. We’re not restrictive.

    And I ADORE what we’re creating here in this ‘Town’ of thankfulness, populated by a wonderful People of gratitude and great attitude (oh noooo not a rhyme-i-tude) and I love that we’re all part of it together. I feel not one ounce ‘preside-y’, which is just as well or the town would rapidly go to pot.

    Looking forward to seeing what the others bring, and who will win the coveted last place this week. Will it be Jak? Will it be Dyanne? Will it be a mystery entrant? Roll on DAY TWO!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Considerer

      agree 100%* oh! before I forget! before I forget, my reference to a friend not feeling well, that was actually to our Friend at A Pleasant House who might be joining us later in the weekend.
      I totally get a kick out of the nascent** village that seems to be forming in the communication that springs up among the Posts and the Comments and the Replies… so have not seen that in any other bloghop. Very Cool.
      Remind me to bring up the Doctrine Virtual Pic-a-nic that hopefully we can have happen before the end of August….to be continued.

      …Jak and Dyanne! hoold on!

      *except for the part where you hate one of the giants of rock music…just kidding the song’s appeal should be limited to: guitar players, old people, old guitar players, hippies (for the lyrics) and old hippies (gratitude for being able to still hear the lyrics (provided they have ‘earphones’ on)

      • Considerer says:

        That is INCREDIBLE XD I can’t believe they have their own theme song now. This is hilarious :D

        And NOW I know to whom you refer. Well, we’re here all weekend, as you say, so no rush :)

        Are we scheduled for brunch this Sunday?

        (who was coming up with a name for this ‘town’?)

      • Jak says:

        I’m pretty sure I recognize Dyanne at 0:50

        Hahaha forgot all about that song. I’m pretty sure that was our life back in another time centuries ago when she was but a mere bar wench and I a magnificent knight!

        • Considerer says:

          You’re very quick to move on, Jak! I show you my sideboob and now THIS! I can’t believe I was so taken in!

          • Jak says:

            This would be more heart-wrenching if your boobs were not floating around everywhere now! Look up at those linkies… 3 of them are your sideboob!

            • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

              lol (I will sit this one out… thank you)

              • Jak says:

                You have to understand, she was all “This sideboob is just for you, Jak. I will never share it with anyone else.”

                And then I wake up the next morning and it’s the talk of the town and I’m like… but… but… it was only MY sideboob :-(

                • Considerer says:

                  What can I say? You weren’t appreciative enough so I had to seek validation elsewhere. It’s a perfectly lovely sideboob (all ‘my own’, ofc) and you were UTTERLY underwhelmed!

  4. Katy Board says:

    I found you using the 10 Things hop – something I was introduced to by Lizzi, of Considerings – something I’ll be ever thankful for :)

    I can see I’m going to have to take some time out this week, to catch up on everyone’s blogs, and to see just who it is I’m sharing the blogosphere with :)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Katy

      a more interesting group of people, I doubt you will find, participating in a bloghop that I know is way more interesting than most bloghops.

      a common theme…talented people and no rules in sight, available all weekend! will stop by your site

  5. zoe says:

    I am so glad to hear you cant remember anything to be grateful for either…I start this list each week thinking what a stinking ingrate I must be not to remember a thing! Then something stupid comes to mind and Eureka a list is born!

  6. Happy Saturday, Clark. Sorry you had to work. It was beautiful day!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @UnbutO

      thanks… it was not so bad, as my work does not keep me indoors all the time, so I could experience the weather…which here was nice, but the height of tourist season is upon us… which means traffic but it’s Summer, so it’s worth it!

  7. Your list is kind of a list of things that make you thankful that you’re thankful. I’m thankful for that!

  8. Jak says:

    Ha great list! I don’t think you fail at properly expressing yourself as much as you think you do :-)

    For some reason I didn’t see the notation marks and was like… wait is he saying he doesn’t like our posts or… what? I read it like 5 times lol

    I was able to handle that music :-) Not sure I’d listen to it [them] often… but one in a forever is okay!

    I love the double 10s! I use “X”s I guess, but it’s all the same.

    Jak at The Cryton Chronicles & Dreams in the Shade of Ink

  9. I am always thankful for your lists because they deviate from what everyone else does. Not that we’re right or wrong…just different.

    I like different. And I am thankful for it. So thanks for helping me expand my list.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Kris

      I am grateful for that… hearing that the little forays that I tend to take (in search of ways to express things that are challenging to express) are viewed in a positive light.

  10. Finally getting a few quiet moments on this Sunday night to catch up a bit and just wanted to stop in say hi and hoping you had a wonderful weekend. Thank you as always for hosting Clark and here is to a great new week beginning now!! :)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Janine

      glad you could….about the ‘quiet moment’ lol (‘if you kids don’t quiet down up there!!!)

  11. christine says:

    That is the last time I’m typing out my URL to comment here. For Pete’s sake, why didn’t anyone tell me to pick a short, simple blog name?!?!?! If you all don’t know who I am by now…(I got nothin’)

    That first song…wasn’t feeling it. However, Jack and Diane? Marvelous!!! I sang that all the time when I was younger, and then again when I lived in Bloomington. (John Mellencamp’s kids went to the school where I taught.) Love that song. It is not just for hippies and old people. (Jak, no need to comment.)

    I can’t say that I liked you from the first moment. I could barely understand you. :) However, you have grown on me, to where I adore you and your unconventional lists. So glad I popped on over from Lizzi’s all those months ago.

  12. Kristi (K2) says:

    I’m also thankful for the flexibility of this hop (as evidenced by my tardiness in commenting!)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Kristi

      lol I am totally with you on that… Saturdays I manage to get a Post together but then it’s like Saturday night before I can get back on the computer and then having a whole day (Sunday) very big plus!
