“…and I come back to find, the stars misplaced” the Wakefield Doctrine First Annual Doctrine Video Brunch!!

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

brunch

Hey, what you doin this coming Sunday morning?  ( you know what? you’re absolutely correct! if this Doctrine is anywhere near as good as it’s been cracked up to be, you don’t need to answer that question, we already know! )

clarks will be awake… so very awake, even when we think we are trying to sleep, (…yeah, that’s a good one! like we ever sleep). we’ll be awake/half-awake (ha ha) or totally awake, you know why? because of you. (‘you’ being defined as: children anxious to be up and noisy, dogs who, sensing that you are awake decide now would be a great time to alert the family of the presence of…anything alive in a 2 block radius…spouses who are still asleep and it is so easier to just get up and take care of things rather than have to listen to the, “I work hard all week, can’t I just sleep one morning?” speech)

scotts will be sleepily sleeping and it will be our decision, our own damned fault if we get them up (on purpose or …innocently enough, like they are ever not ready at the slightest provocation) scotts resent sleep because it robs them of chase time, of yelling time and whispering-in-ear time… but a scott, even when awake-due-to-the-sounds-of-the-family, will stay in bed  until they give up and venture forth, (mostly) so they can observe the rituals of whichever family members are inclined to want to attend religio-socio-active rituals, including but not limited to: going to Church, going to Sunday School, going to Grandma’s house, going downstairs and cleaning before the guests can arrive.

rogers will be asleep and they will remain asleep, until it is time to wake, and they will then stay in bed until it is time to get up and they will stay in their night clothes (which, more often than not, will include large robes, but no form of footwear) and, when they get up, a roger will always find something that needs to be done in the kitchen. (For reason’s still not fully understood), if you have an adult roger in your household (and if they drink coffee), you will have fresh coffee, from grounds…in coffee pots …complete with the very pleasant aroma and, more often than not, real creme (but half n half is considered a viable substitute), they seem to use the smell of perked coffee as some form of phernomic cover  for their Sunday-morning ritual.

In any event, this coming Sunday, the Wakefield Doctrine will be using the google+ ‘hangout’  thingie  to link up any and all DownSprings, Friends of the Doctrine, Readers or anyone else who may happen by the digital neighborhood. So what will happen at 9:00 am EDT  /2:00 pm BST / 9:00 pm SGT

You’re all invited. And we will send out an invitation on the google+ so watch for that…. or you can find us on ‘the facebook’ as the Wakefield Doctrine gets all international in da house.

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

  1. Haha! That’s so true! I get up very early because I think sleeping in is like wasting the day. Geoff, on the other hand – will get up when he’s had enough sleep and feels like getting up. Complete opposites! So sorry I won’t be online on Sunday to take part in your digital hangout…damn!! We’re moving tomorrow and won’t have internet connection properly for a week or two….arrrrrrg. I’ll catch up with blogs once I’m back online and I’ve prescheduled some career and health posts till then if you want to read them from the blogs or the email subscriptions. I won’t be able to post their links on FB or Twitter. Chat soon…have a great weekend!

      @Melanie

      sounds like a v busy weekend… esciting too! don’t forget!! (one of) the first things to do in any new place is to turn the stereo(or whatever the hell they call music machines, these days) up to 11 (it’s alright, there is a secret international law that says it’s ok to do, provided you are still un-packing stuff)

      Will watch ‘steer career for Posts and updates and such and pass them along (after reading) have fun!

      (oh yeah, don’t forget to pack the cats!*)

      *we have never had cats… only dogs, but I have heard from friends of the felinephilic persuasion that cats are totally rogerian when it comes to moving to a new house and are inclined towards hiding pre-move)

  2. Hey! It’s true. Whatcha said up there. Can’t attest to scotts rising in the morning but I’ve had plenty of experience with the rogerian contingent. rogerian females are so about the robes! LOL

    Here’s the thing about clarks. We love our beds. But not for the sleeping necessarily (or having sex there, anywhere can be good for that). Beds are for the reading, for all sorts of things. The bed is for clarks like the living room couch is for….everyone else.

    Cats. Once upon a time one of my cats “got lost” outside right before moving to a new apt. about a mile away. Granted we had only lived in the place a month before we had to go. Mysteriously and suddenly, there were “no cats allowed” (I had 2). Since I was moving not too far away I went back every day for a week to call for my Madeline. Found her one day in the garden across from our former apt.. Once in the new place, she was fine. Never ran away from home again.

    Brunch. Who invented the brunch? I’ll be there! Sounds fun. We’ll all sit at a lazy susan table:)

    P.S. Happy Moving Melanie! We’ll catch you next video brunch!!

  3. Considerer says:

    So neither Husby or I ascribe to our primary on a Sunday morning – he’s all about the sleep, I’m all about the church, and clarkness be hanged!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Considere

      lol but! but I bet you get to church early, no?

      Husby… does he drink the coffee?

  4. I would be sleeping heavily and then feeling guilty, like a true Roger- Clark!!

  5. Kate says:

    Ohhhh very exciting things happening on Sunday morning! I will probably be sleeping :)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Kate

      (as with the Wakefield Doctrine in the beginning times), I suspect the Video Brunch will require a certain ramp-up time…’sepcially given how inclined to ‘loving the camera’ that clarks are…

  6. RCoyne RCoyne says:

    Rogers and coffee rituals? Hell yes. I would make fresh coffee evey morning, not just Sunday, if I had an arrow through my head. Two arrows, maybe I could go with Folger’s Crystals. Maybe.

  7. The ritual of coffee drinking (preparation, utensils, coffee machines from hell, etc.) is decidedly a rogerian thing. Not that clarks don’t enjoy a good cup of coffee. I can’t even think about leaving the house without my fix:)
    scotts are simply about the caffeine benefits proffered by coffee. But our rogerian friends…..they be about the process and presentation. God bless them one and all!

  8. Considerer says:

    Nope – I slide in late almost every time! Probably by virtue of living 30 seconds away – I think I can get away with it and I just can’t!

    Husby will have coffee (sometimes) if offered, but no ritual. He’s more of a tea drinker, but gets passionate about Pepsi Max.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Considerer

      I do the caffeine for the chemical properties, but Phyllis (a minimal coffee drinker) has gone to a ‘real coffee’ thing (at least for the weekend).

  9. Yup!!
