FTSF the Wakefield Doctrine …it’s later than usual, this is more difficult than I thought…I am sure you’ll understand

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

…from the BloggariniJanine and Kate and Stephanie and Dawn  comes this sentence fragment:

“I am very passionate about…”

So for today’s Finish the Sentence Friday: the answer is the Wakefield Doctrine!
(what do you mean, this is not a test?!  Thats my ‘finish’ of ‘the sentence’...) (…the hell you say!)

When in doubt, go to ‘the Wikipedia’ and they tell us to start this FTSF with:

Passion (from the Latin verb patī meaning to suffer) is a term applied to a very strong feeling about a person or thing. Passion is an intense emotion compelling feeling, enthusiasm, or desire for something.

If it seems like I’m stalling for time (or more likely, inspiration) it is because I am….stalling for time…and inspiration.

I actually saw this week’s sentence fragment a couple of days ago, and I was all, ‘damn! finally an easy one! I can do this in my sleep, ’cause everbody know that I all about the Wakefield Doctrine.’

yeah, about that over confidence… you clarks out there know the feeling: you are not being over-confident! if anything, you are being cautious, you are not running up and down the aisle telling everyone how you know the answer (you’re pretty sure you’re not doing this) and you are totally not laughing at anyone who seems to be struggling with the assignment. As a matter of fact, you’re usually looking for someone to help with the assignment, (’cause you know you got this one!) and the funny thing is, the people you want to help don’t seem to be overly concerned. So you back off a bit. Then you begin to think that maybe you missed something (god knows, you looked at the task every way from Sunday… nope, still real simple: ‘I am really passionate about…’). Fine! Not worried at all.

… the doors shut, the pencils are instructed to rest on the blue booklets until the instructions are read.  What the hell is the problem?  the answer is right there in front of you. But you know that there is something missing… nothing you can think of…totally something you feel.  Nothin  just a bad feeling that has (somehow!) changed happy confidence into fearful uncertainty…how the hell did this happen? Now you just want to get it over with, you avoid looking at the others because it is better to be un-noticed and right than to be stared at and wrong. The answers are there… but even that’s not right! Too quick, too glib.

So here:

  • I am very passionate about the Doctrine and how it brings me into to contact with people who I would never have had the nerve to walk up to,
  • I am very passionate about the WakefieldDoctrine and how it brings me into to contact with the people who understand how what the Doctrine means
  • I am very passionate about the Doctrine and how it brings me into to contact with people who I would never have had the nerve to walk up to and confidently engage in a conversation

(at least it is 6:11 EDT so most of the other will be done reading and  you can hope for a really, really difficult sentence fragment next week, those are always easier.)

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

  1. Clark, you have every right in my book to be passionate about the doctrine, because seriously it has been proven here time and again that it works and really is just that amazing and awesome. So, could agree more about you being passionate about it. Thank you as always for linking up with us and hope you have a great weekend!! :)

      @Janine

      thanks, as always… (really fell behind on this week’s FTSF, lol) I suspect that it will take me into Saturday to get to everyone’s Post.. but it is well worth it for me

  2. Hi there, enjoyed this post (once again!). It was fun to read, I found it taxed my concentration, no skimming here, doesn’t work! That’s a really big complement, many posts are skimmable but don’t keep my attention working 100%. So congratulations and we will proceed to the next one. Have a good day! (Is it day in your area? It’s 21.30 here)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Joan

      Thank you, I learn something every Friday from the (participating) Posts… on content and on writing…

  3. You have a knack for talking about things and putting them in a different way for people – Clarks, Scotts and Rogers to view. That’s very cool. It’s very obvious that you’re passionate about The Doctrine. :) Happy weekend Clark!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Melanie

      Thank you…and (per Scribbles and Smiles) you hopefully will get out for a little bit this weekend. Sometimes, even if you are not feeling 100%, it is good to venture out…as I mention in my Comment, it can be weird enough to satisfy a clark! (the nature of the first trip out, after an extended period in the house).

  4. Haha! Love that you’re so passionate about The Wakefield Doctrine. As you should be. Because it’s awesome!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Kristi

      Thank you, coming from you that is high praise I totally love the multi expressionism in Finding… hey maybe we should talk about a co-author on a Post!

  5. Cyndi says:

    I love this post! You know it made me think of an interaction I had with a friend about my artwork. She keeps telling me (she’s a Scottian female; I DO have that much figured out, lol) that she senses I’m not confident in my work.
    Actually, I am.
    But, it’s the whole desire to not come off as overly confident and wanting to “sell” my work to every poor soul who happens to cross my path. I find that rather tacky. This is also why I shy away from salespeople – I’m so NOT that person. I’m a lot more like, well, hell, if you like it, then I trust you’ll buy it when you’re good and ready.
    Yeah…this is also why I don’t have a sales job. HA!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Cyndi

      I know what you mean… but you know what they say at that Wakefield Doctrine place, “everybody does everything at one time or another” which, of course simply means that there is a
      ‘way of selling’ that is appropriate (or consistent) with the worldview of a clark (as well as scotts and rogers). And it is not to compare the three, at least not to compare to decide which is ‘better’…but it is helpful to look at the three (in this context of the thing called selling) in order to discover what must happen for a sale to occur* and then see which can be ‘imported’ into your worldview.
      Granted this is all analytical sounding (well, duh! clark talking lol) but it is our thing to use in different ways, knowing that we learn from what we learn.
      btw even scotts (the natural salespeople) and rogers (the natural self-promoters) will look at what they do and hone their skills… at least professional sales people do…

      but your videos! damn! nice pace of development as they are getting ‘better’ with each episode will talk…

      *and this raises the equally enormous ‘question’ of what you are actually trying to achieve…

  6. Cyndi says:

    Ha! What AM I trying to achieve with videos you ask? Well…funny you ask. Let’s see, it’s a stream-of-consciousness answer, but here goes:
    I am not entirely sure what EXACTLY I want to do with them. I just know I want to use my creative skills to inspire and help others become more than they ever thought possible. As for the videos themselves, it’s harder to steal content that way, you reach a wider audience (because the videos end up being on two different websites, at least), I feel like people can get to know me a little better, I can sometimes express myself better than just with writing, and I can have fun with video effects and music. What else…well, then there’s the inspiration piece: a video has just as much potential to inspire, BUT, in our vision-driven society, a visual representation often goes further. :) At least this is the thinking going on in my little world. :D

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Cyndi

      Am watching with interest the things you try and the things you do, from the perspective of another person doing something similar (prob not as stream of consciousness and def with an intent to convey certain information, i.e. the Doctrine)

      But what has be totally engrossed in the ‘process’ in which you are altering/augmenting/modifying your clarklike worldview. We talked a lot last night about this thing… we all know how totally daunting the prospect of getting our pitchas taken and listening to recordings of our voice is to a clark. And we are not concerned with the idea of ‘making ourselves overcome the fear’ of doing something like this…we totally are interested in is what you are doing, which is not simply overcoming fear, you are making it an experience such as scott or a roger might experience…

      sorry for the long words… Comments can be limiting..
      Hey if you ever have time off on a weekday afternoon, we have been known to open the call-in line for a ‘study hour’ lol (we actually did that a couple of times. it was fun! I think it was Denise and Molly and Steve Crabtree on the last one. might have even had Progenitor roger on one of them… let me know if that idea has appeal… there is much we should discuss lol)

  7. Cyndi says:

    Ya know, what about Tuesday afternoon? After say, 3:30? Or Thursday afternoon, after 3:30. Saturdays are hard sometimes: I’m often visiting family or having “date night” with my hubby. :)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Cyndi

      I can do the exact 3:30 on Tuesday but I have only 30 minutes (appt at 4:30) Thursday is totally open THursday is totally open for me so 3:30 on Thursday works

      you want to say Thursday 3:30 on the dot?

  8. Cyndi says:

    Thursday at 3:30 works for me. :D

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Cyndi

      cool

      the line will be open at 3:30 everyone is invited please bring your own No. 2 pencils and blue composition books.

  9. So pleased you integrated the Bloggarini into your post again! And though my blog is by no means the doctrine, I really appreciate your point about how your work has brought you into contact with people you would never have had the nerve to walk up to in person. One of the beautiful things about blogging, no?

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Stephanie

      the diversity of the people (and views of life) is frickin ridiculous … I doubt if I spend mor ethan 3 hours a week on TV any more this blogging and writing is more worthwhile/entertaining/enlightening Thanks to you and Janine and them for the FTSF as a way that I get to meet even more interesting lifeforms
