Monday Morning: how each of the three personality types of the Wakefield Doctrine perceive this most rogerian of days!

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the three personality types designated as clarklike, scottian and rogerian)

Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed rogers will surely have their hands up already! Yes, we did kinda give away the answer posed in the Title of Today’s Post.

Mondays, of all of the days of the week, (with Sunday morning coming in a close second) is truly the most rogerian of days. Why? Well, hold on there pardna! We need to try to do a set up first, otherwise the New Reader will be clicking outta here faster than you can say the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of what-the-hell??!) The Wakefield Doctrine is a personality theory that holds that there are three ‘personality types’ and that they all are derived from the personal reality (referred to as a ‘worldview’) of the individual. For the Wakefield Doctrine, there are three worldviews:

  1. the world of the Outsider, the clarklike personality type, for whom the perspective is thus: “I am here and the world is out there“. If that statement sounds right to you? welcome clark!
  2. the reality of Predator and Prey, the scottian personality is the result of living in a reality in which you are either predator, quick to act, with a minimum of introspection, mercurial in temperament, for whom the statement: “actions speak louder than words”. For the scottian personality type, these four words say it all.
  3. the worldview of the Herd Member, the life of a person living in this reality is one of certainty, assurance, insecurity and a reliance upon the fact that there are Rules and the world follows these Rules, whether the individual chooses to accept it or not. A roger is precise, meticulous, predictable, social and annoying, the defining statement for a roger might be: “We are, therefore I am

So…we are all born with the capability of living in one of these three worldviews, we ‘pick one’ at a very early age but never lose the capacity to see the ‘other two worldviews’ and our personality types are: clarklike, scottian or rogerian. If you observe a person, correctly infer the worldview that they are living in, you will know more about them than they know about themselves. Pretty simple, isn’t it?

Back to Mondays! The reason that Monday is ‘the most rogerian of days’ lies in what the other two personality types dislike about the day! While clarks and scotts will dislike Mondays for very different reasons, the characteristic of Mondays that they both share a dislike for is this: Mondays are the beginning of the Officially Recognized Work/School Week. It is always Mondays that mark the start of the compulsory Days of the Week, days when someone or something else has decided that it is best that you:

  • show up on time
  • dress a certain way
  • bring a lunch
  • become more sexually attractive than you are comfortable being
  • speak more clearly and simply than you would prefer
  • run less
  • run more
  • listen to morons tell you what to do
  • tell morons what to do
  • remember the Weekend, but forget any plan to do the same for at least 5 Days

There you have it! The Wakefield Doctrine and the most rogerian Day of the Week.

Now get to Work/School you binyons!

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

Yes, scotts live by the 4 words “actions speak louder than words.” LOL! 5, 8, 11 words… doesn’t matter. “I scream, therefore I am.” There you go.

@AKH lol (being a clark), I toyed with expressing it, ‘action speaks louder than word’ lol! but the thing about you people, is that you are very clearly ‘there’ in the here and now…like it or not lol

  2. Downspring#1 says:

Screaming (to be heard above everyone else) and flailing arms (to be seen first and only) LOL
scotts are kinetic energy. Got to get me some today….

  3. Molly Molly M. says:

Personally, I like Mondays (though I prefer Tuesdays…), but for different reasons. Monday is a new day — a blank slate. It is a new beginning, at the beginning of a new week. And today, it is not only a new week, but a new month!
All that blank space stretched out before me — how could I not love it?

…but then, I am the one who decides things for others…

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      @Molly

err… that’s the thing! it is the beginning of the week, (are we being tricked by Sunday? or is that a case of mis-labelling, mis-representation?)

But it is so the starting gate for the week, which like it or not, accept it or not, it is the unit of measurement for the real world… which brings us back to rogers! lol I would suggest that depsite the collegial moaning and groaning that rogers do, at work in the company of others, they loves Monday…their moans are joyous, but swaddled in possessiveness… who other than a roger would have a mug with “I hate Mondays’ with some cutsey photo of a dog or a cartoon cat or a sea anemone… see? my own brain is skittering around like…like… a scott …doing something crazy! yeah!

(When the hell does Tuesday start?? Now that’s the kind of day a clark can get their mind around!)

  4. Molly Molly M. says:

Tuesday is just Tuesday… It is early enough in the week that no one is in a hurry to finish anything yet and it is a good day for beginning anything not started on Monday.

Sunday is the day I hate — too much schedule, too many people, too much transition.

I was about to make a joke about Saturday night (for you) must look like a Department Store at 11:00 pm on a Christmas Eve…lol but then I sorta ‘remembered’ how it is I spend Saturday Nights.. lol
