DHS Statistics: incidence of non-consensual sex more than doubled during time period corresponding to the Super Bowl on Sunday

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine ( the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers )

Today we will ‘talk’ a little about how you can use the Wakefield Doctrine to improve your day today! Yes, you read that correctly! We did just make the claim that what you read here today will allow you to do things differently, react in a way other than how you normally react and learn more about the people in your life….today!

First off:  you are either a clark or a scott or a roger. (No, you don’t have to read the “about Page’ or stop what you are doing, just stay with us… you can do this, we have yet to hear from anyone who said, “Hey I couldn’t understand this, it didn’t work’)
Which of the following statements sound most right:

  1. “…screw this…other than the Title and maybe the pictures, this is too boring!”
  2. “…no, I won’t answer your question, you have no right to ask questions like that, if I want you to know what I think maybe I would tell you but only if you tell me more about someone else that we both know.”
  3. “interesting…this all sounds somehow  familiar, but lets see how you get away with the claim of us knowing which of the 3 we are…”

Good work!

Group 1  you’re scotts and you should feel proud of yourself for making it this far, stay with us just a little longer and we will show how you can get way more out of the day today, and have a lot more fun doing it

Group 2  hello roger  (yes, this applies to men and woman and boys and girls) and yes there are, in fact, more of you people in the world than the other two and no, you’re absolutely correct, we don’t really know your inner most thoughts and we obviously totally under-estimate your subtle intelligence…but… you know how a good Ken Burns movie includes like the actual letters and things that people said, how it paints the complete picture of the life of the dead people that he is spending 120 minutes of black and white film on?  You can know that much about the people that you meet today. Guaranteed. Just stay with us and we’ll show you how.

Group 3 clarks…yo  hang back  watch what we do with the other two, you be alright on your own….one thing though…don’t worry about ‘getting this exactly right’ and don’t worry about maybe making a mistake….all the others reading this? they’re frickin scotts and rogers!! Like it’ll be a major miracle if they even know you write a Comment…lol

Attention Please!!

rogers: for today? today you need to be aware of the clarks in your life. They are the ones that are not taking things from you or otherwise making you feel good cause they’re telling everyone a joke and it seems to involve you (but you didn’t quite get the ‘set-up’). Anyway, when you see a clark…and they will be the ones who seem to enjoy talking to you and are offering to help you do your work, give them cover when your friends show up…the herd of other rogers…you know the people you are comfortable with but don’t really know and (for some reason you have never figured out) and don’t care to know, do something to get the clark to get away from the herd. You know that nothing good (for the clark) is gonna happen…

scotts: relax a little, when you get the small group gathered and you feel the need to crank up the volume (you know, when you tell a slightly off-color  joke and how when you see that everyone is laughing you know that you have to tell a dirty joke and if too many people are still laughing you have to tell a really dirty joke?) today…stop and ask the person in the group that is around you if they had one wish, what would it be? When you get the person who clearly is taking the question seriously….leave them alone for the rest of the day

clarks: stop thinking and do one thing that you know will make everyone think you are a jerk…do it seriously, no ‘set-up’ no mumbling just answer someone rudely or compliment a member of the opposite sex, or ask your boss for a raise (and don’t help him say no, ask and shut up)  do this once today and your life will not be the same again. We are certain of this.

OK everyone! Do this thing. You do the task we suggest and your life will improve because you will have the proof that what the Wakefield Doctrine has to offer will be useful and valuable in your own lives.
Hey!
Some of you will get yourselfs confused, either on purpose (I’m looking at you, clark) or cause you don’t really believe this (roger) or you were in too much of hurry…( lol  scott!)  But here’s the thing:

We all have the qualities of all three, just one of the three is the pre-dominant, main one.
The Doctrine is all about the world that you experience, not something you need to think about, just remember what we tell you and everyone, we mean everyone you encounter will play their parts.
Have fun…you can’t get this thing wrong….you can fuck up the instructions and trip yourself up, but the main thing is that if you are a scott then the world will be a place of challenge and conflict, if you are a roger then you think you have it down and the group will back you up and  clark?  welcome you’re home.

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

Most excellent post today! But hey, can’t leave a comment as I am too busy! Have stuff to do to get ready for work. LOL
But I promise to come back later tonight and tell you about how last Friday, in a moment of sheer rogerian pre-Super Bowl comradry at my place of work, I did, in fact, ask my rogerian store director for a raise. And remind me to tell you about how, while discussing said raise in his office, and in moment that was sheer rogerian (complete with light touch of hand on his shoulder), I politely pointed out how my last raise was not a raise at all.
    TBC

  2. AKH says:

Do it! Really! Just wait until you see the other person’s look of confusion (that’s the fun/funny part). It will not only make you feel giddy watching other people walk away shaking their heads in confusion by the unusual way you are behaving, but also show you that the usefulness of the Doctrine is at your disposal.

  3. Molly Molly M. says:

Does being completely self-indulgent count on the ‘jerk’ list? There are so many things *I* want to do today…

  4. clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

…that reference to ‘being a jerk’ is sort of an inside reference for the clarks reading this…the simple fact of the matter is that clarks (male and female) are so damn politie, considerate, un-selfish,thoughtful, (did we say polite already?) that the real challenge is to ‘act like a jerk’.

Try it….harder than you think… and we mean do something that will have the scotts saying, “wow! did she/he really say/do that?’

    lol

  5. Molly Molly M. says:

Well, my kids think I am a jerk everyday, for making them do their chores… but that’s to be expected! This is going to take some thought. I may not be able to complete the assignment today…

  6. clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

remember kids get a special exemption and their reaction does not count directly…except when you are dealing with an “adult” scott and even then…lol

yes, I know, ‘adult scott’ is a bit of an oxymoron

  7. Downspring#1 says:

Hey Ladies! (channel the boys, channel the boys lol)
Damn! Had totally promised to write in last night but didn’t. Not like me to break a promise. In fact, at one point last night I thought “geez, I’m pretty tired but I did promise to write a follow up at the Doctrine tonight…..fuck it.” Whoah nelly! Where did that come from!
Was I being scottian at that moment or simply fighting a clarklike impulse to do the right thing?
Just like my “moment in time” with my boss last week, (hell that entire day) and my walking “the line of duty to others” (no followup comment) it was the emotional content that superceded the more ingrained behavioral reactions. When we talk about accessing/developing our other 2 aspects we have to keep in mind that there is specific emotional content involved. If you are lucky enough to have found yourself retrospectively “out of character” then you have gotten to the core of it. It’s all about the energy. Think about it. Getting caught up, truly caught up in the group thing for example. Doesn’t it feel good to feel as if you are a member of such a group? Especially, if it is a larger group?
As a clark, whenever I have found myself more scottian than clarklike, even as little as it was last night, it feels good. There’s an energy about it. And make no mistake, the energy you feel “as a roger” is different from the energy you feel “as a scott”. Personally, acting scottian drains me in a way being rogerian never could.
    Later.

AKH! You would make an excellent spokesperson for NIKE!

Molly, Molly….good golly Miss Molly, STOP….IT! Stop the self-indulgance and stop the thinking. Try simply doing a thing. If you catch the moment when it feels a little off (as long as it is not illegal and otherwise a heinous thing LOL) go with it. You can look back on it later to analyze and otherwise dramatiz.
Free your body to act more and give the old noggin a break.

…for the more Castanada-deficit among Readers, could you give us a quick (lol) and short, hell make that scottian or rogerian explanation of our use of the word ‘body’?

  8. Downspring#1 says:

For simplicity sake let’s go scottian on this one. Reference to the “body” refers to base “instinct”. It’s about our bodies “knowing”, or “interpreting” or “giving us a heads up” about a person or situation. It’s that first impression before our brains kick in and muddle things up. Like in horror movies – when you reach for that closet door. Your body is screaming “don’t open it! run!!” But then our grey matter butts in and tries to rationalize it, put “real world” sense into it. Had we listened to (trusted) our body first then we’d be alive today wouldn’t we?

  9. Molly Molly M. says:

Okay, okay, okay! But I’ve been doing the acting and the feeling things so much lately, reading this made me realize how much of the thinking stuff I am behind on. There are so many abstract lists that have not been attended to! :P

  10. clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

lol…. abstract lists!!! Molly! you temptress! ( voice over: Homer Simpson: “…mmm, abstract lists”)

Thank god (that) the Doctrine says that we have all three characteristics within ourselves… so look and see that when you have been doing a lot of something that may seem ‘out of sync’ it is just the time you were in a more rogerian or scottian mode…

thank you for the Commentation… given that except for our Ms AKH… the scottian and rogerian contingent have been laying down on the job… you gots a good secondary aspect going there, keep it up.

  11. Downspring#1 says:

Good point csr. Good point. It sounds as if Molly is working overtime on her rogerian and scottian aspects. I am learning that sometimes there is a time delay in realizing whether or not I have been succesful in that endeavor.
Had my own “proof is in the pudding” realization 2 days ago when, in the midst of my day at work, the first day mind you of my deliberately “going scottian”, I found myself in a bit of a “crises”. Not a huge one, but certainly one in which typically a clark would shine, which is to say, control and execute smoothly. Example? Let’s see if I can tell you quickly: 2 women, relatively rotund approach my lane (I’m cashiering in a gross-a-ree store). The taller of the 2 is trying to hold up the second one whose legs appear to be failing her. So I quickly go around to them. She has hooked her arm under the sinking woman and tells me to have someone go outside and get the sagging to the floor woman’s husband who is sitting, doing nothing in his truck. Let’s jump to the end of the story: I was able to get the Fr. End Mgr., a roger, to stop talking to a customer and get me a wheel chair. While the wheel chair is being gotten, I quickly return to help hold up the nearly on the floor sinking woman. Luckily a well built man in his 30’s asked if he could help. He and I supported the woman until the wheelchair arrived. During all of this, I remained calm, cool and collected. In fact, no one really knew there was much going on over at Lane 5. Despite this, I realized that I had not handled the situation as efficiently as I knew it could have been and that really bothered me until……I figured it out. I concluded I must have been accessing my scottian side successfully while my clarklike self took 2nd chair.
Fun and fascinating stuff this Wakefield Doctrine for sure. lol

P.S. Need I say I was totally exhausted by the end of the day!!!
