pssst!…pssst…shhh…over here! wanna see a cool* personality theory in action?

Hey!

The Wakefield Doctrine is a tool for living. Knowing about the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers is a way to have an edge, in dealing with people every day. Doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, you interact with other people every day of your life. Pretty obvious statement, isn’t it? Well, if we don’t start with something obvious and simple then we sure as hell are not going to be able to give you something obvious and simple to help, are we now?

The challenge of daily life:  people, the things they say and the things they do…to us, because of us, about us and over us! Unless you are living in a cell or on a mountain top somewhere, you are going to have people in your life.
This ‘challenge’ of daily life is really a ‘question’, isn’t it?

  • What do they really want?
  • Why do they have to act like that?

This is not to say that you have to know the answer! You probably don’t know the answer to this question about most of the people you will meet today. So what?  Life goes on! You go to work, you go to school, you go shopping, you go out with your friends…but, if

…Anyone out there ever has a minute where you think, “jeez! what’s his deal?”  or maybe you are at the mall shopping with your wife of 15 years and she says something that makes you stop walking and stare and say “What the fuck?!” or real simply you and your best friend are at lunch in the cafeteria and some other kids sit down with you and your friend turns into a totally different person…

If you have felt like this, then  the Wakefield Doctrine blog is your answer.  This is not the same thing as saying, “hey try this and see what you think!”  Sorry, folks it don’t work that way.

We have been doing this blog for 2 years now and one thing that has become clear to those of us here, Progenitors and DownSprings alike, is that the Wakefield Doctrine is not for everyone. It’s really kinda interesting, most people who read these Posts, ‘get it’, they understand that the Doctrine is describing 3 personality types. They get that each type can be recognised by our descriptions and when they ‘spot one’ they see all the characteristics that go with their type. So far, so good. They even get the easy parts, scotts are wildmen (and hot women) and clarks are weird guys ( and sexy women) and rogers are….er  “such rogers!” Most of you get that. But

…but most of you miss a key part of the Wakefield Doctrine. The part that makes the difference between an amusing blog and something like…I don’t know…advice your parents gave you… don’t date guys who right away tell you they know how depressed you sometimes feel, or stay away from the kid who has an uncle who visits once every 3 to 5 years or look both ways, count your change, wash your hands, wait 60 minutes after a meal before you go into the water, always wear a condom, never tell your friends everything, look before you leap, thank god you’re a country boy and measure once and cut twice… you know that advice….

…we are finding that most people are missing the aggressiveness to take the tools and the insights that are here and applying them to themselves, and that totally makes the difference between the amusing and the useful, the practical and the silly, the clever and beneficial.

So despite what some of the DownSprings (and one of the Progenitors) are inclined to say, we will say, ‘want some really useful advice?”

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one
