you can't pronounce 'scott' without the (silent) HEY!

Alright people…. listen up…

Today it’s time to give writing paper “CY” a big welcome.

She has been disciplining herself to the ways of the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers) and has discerned that she is a self-proclaimed clark. Way to go CY! Can’t wait to hear from you.

I’m sure that at this stage of the game she has already figured out “who” some of you are.

Wouldn’t you like to know? Then you know where to head.

Also have to give props to my man, Doug Borden for directing me to places where, in one instance, we have a reader/writer of the Top 5 Websites with Fun and Insightful Psychological Tests (makeuseof.com) who has created a link to the Wakefield Doctrine. Yes folks, it’s real! And the word is spreading. So jump on the bus. We promise it will be a great ride.

Oh, and by the way, once you think you’ve figured out “who” you are, you can purchase a one-of-a-kind hat (for your damn head) for only $19.51. Hell, it’s a steal. And with Christmas right around the corner it makes a great stocking stuffer. So start reading the damn posts already.

“…you’re damn right I said that!!”

oh, is this thing still on? shit….
Hi! CY Hello! Doug Borden y’all make yourselfs right at home here! Ms. AKH is one of the brighter stars here at the Doctrine (…the early years…) and if she vouches for you, well that is all that I need.

    Hidy

  2. Doug Borden says:

    AKH-ette,
Thank you for the props. It was my pleasure. We were just fortunate that such a pertinent article came out that I happened to see. All I did was point you in the right direction and make the suggestion that you create a post so that that audience might have http://www.WakefieldDoctrine.com brought to their attention. It was the quality of the blog and a little luck that a powerhouse of an author saw it and chose to act on it.
This is the type of thing I am doing when as I am trying to promote http://www.ZipCodeEDo(dot)com and http://www.PostOfficeUSA(dot)com.
In order to be successful in the long run you need interesting and useful content on your website which is what you have created at Wakefield Doctrine.
    Good Luck,
    Doug

  3. CY says:

    Hi all,
Thanks AKH for the welcome. I am a clark and I like the back of the bus. Still making my way through all this information, hope to post more as I get more familiar.

    Cy

  4. AKH says:

CY is in the house! Great to hear from you. Back of the bus, eh? Sounds like a clark to me. You are definitely
“getting it.” Look forward to hearing more from you.

  5. clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

Cy…good to hear from you. You happen to join us at an interesting time here at the Doctrine. (As you cannot possibly know) Ms AKH has been totally tasmanian about spreading the word about this thing of ours, for which we are grateful. Other efforts currently involve the redesign of the site to try to make it more user friendly.

In fact, that is the area that only you can help us with, i.e. how easy or how hard is it to get the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers).
And I don’t ask this in a No.2 pencil…start now, test sense. I mean it as, to how easy or difficult was it for you, as a new Reader to confirm what you thought we meant…or for you to make sure that we meant what we said…or “I did not just read that Joe Pesci is a perfect example of the scottian personality”. (Actually you did read that, he is. Just as Diane Keaton is the patroness of clarklike females).
Any feedback of that sort would be totally appreciated.
As you read in the more recent Posts, we are trying to get across the fun (and the usefulness) of the Doctrine to people we have never met. Compounding the challenge, we are working with the written word. And we are not professional Writers. (…no!! say it ain’t so!!!)

So let us know…there might be a hat (for your damn head) in it for you.

  6. CY says:

The first post I started to read I thought I understood what you were talking about, but quickly became confused. I find I do that a lot, think I understand something too quickly, and then get confused. Then I am convinced that the only way I can understand it is if I know all of it, which is impossible so I stayed confused for a while …or a long while… until it finally it ALL clicks. So basically I stay confused at something all the time. So I am slowly piecing things together about WD, after AKH got me started with a couple of hints. I am probably not the best person to ask about your blog, I tend to be the opposite of the norm. I will end in saying that I will definitely keep reading and hope to post more. Cy

  7. clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

confusion is a good thing…allows for a richer “variable set” of interpretation.
(for a clark) confusion is so not the same as ‘not understanding’…you raise an interesting contrast between a clarklike and a rogerian approach to the new, the novel; in that both types seek more knowledge rather than less knowledge (“less knowledge” pronounced: ‘scott‘).
And the distinction between the two is also illustrative, i.e. a roger seeks (additional) knowledge to confirm conformity to (their) original assumption and a clarks seeks (additional) knowledge as an enriching/enhancement of the original premise.
Further, a roger expects to have “conformity confirmed”, so as a result they do not place any value on information in the abstract. Nothing could be further from the truth for clarks, they will place value on information for it’s own sake.
Taking this to the next step, one might say that the ‘medium of exchange’ in interpersonal relationships is belonging for the roger and knowing for the clark… now for scotts, the ‘medium of exchange’ is one of those little black-bordered nutrition facts thingies on all things supermarket.

And I will disagree, you are one of the people in position to help us here precisely because you are ‘the new kid’. Seeing as that state never lasts, your impressions will help us make sure the Doctrine is in a form that is accessible to all who visit.
And (when you are comfortable) feel free to Comment on the Posts as they show up, Comments beget Comments and sometimes our scottian contingent needs a little kibble tossed over the fence to rouse them into activity…

  8. AKH says:

hey cy! good post. i started off pretty much the same as you. and i understand that it does take some time. but you’re getting closer and closer to your “eureka moment”!! let us know when you have it! and feel free to share it. in the meantime keep chugging through:)
oh and the “kibble” thing? i’m full (for now)

  9. Downspring#1 says:

Ditto – good to hear from you CY.
Today I shall take you at your word that you are a clark. If this be true, then do not sell yourself short. You did in fact “understand” what you were reading but it was on an organic level. “Thinker” that you are, your brain got in the way and convinced you that you didn’t quite “get it”.(hence the “confusion”)
If, after reading clarkscottroger’s comment “a clark seeks (additional) knowledge as an enriching/enhancement of the original premise” you find your head nodding in the affirmative then yes, yes you are a clark:)

No doubt the Wakefield Doctrine (theory of clarks, scotts and rogers) can be heady stuff but in reality it is fairly simple. And fun!
I look forward to new Posts but it often gets lonely out there. Perhaps you will join in some repartee very soon.

P.S. Know where a girl can buy some cool footwear?:)

  10. CY says:

Thanks ALL.! Still have to read your posts several times to get it. At least I think I get it!.

    P.S. I like barefoot.
